I have a Gamo bore cleaning kit I bought part # 621240954 for $12.95 including shipping from Gamo that is a no worry lead remover as long as you do not use abrasives. It has a nylon brush and pad holder instead of the brass brush found in most kits. Marvin
I’ve accumulated some research over the past couple of months concerning bore cleaning and gun maintenance, (research is all I can do, since I have no practical experience).
I decided to go:
BEEMAN MP-5 METALOPHILIC OIL 1 x $5.20
Crosman Silicone Chamber Oil 1 x $4.99
Ballistol Lube, Aerosol Spray, 6 oz. 1 x $5.95
To start off with.
MP-5 applied using cleaning pellets + pellet – followed by dry pellets + pellet. Also for exterior moving parts.
Ballistol = bore and general cleaning
Chamber oil= 1 drop every 3000 shots or so. What do you think?
For some reason my cognitive “research” is telling me to shy away from bore brushes period.?
and would like for others to present their cleaning, lube labs to the forum, maybe I an others might learn a few trick's beside Singer oil and fishing reel silicone oil. LOL

and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
cTruth I understand and its not a every day thing but your tooth brush is stiffer than this brush and your teeth and gums are softer that the bore of your rifle if this is of any value to you. Marvin
should really be applied when you notice your gun's accuracy is not what it used to be.
I usually clean the bore every 500-600 shots but now that I purchased Ballistol I will be using it probably exclusively because it seems to break down anything that's inside the barrel. It's not just a lubricant but seems to dissolve crap as well. I ran several patches through with some ballistol on them until little by little they came out almost clean. I then ran a couple of dry patches and pushed 2-3 cleaning pellets through (not shoot them through - that's bad for the gun) to dry things up. Before I was using the nylon brush that came with the RWS cleaning kit followed by Beeman MP5 oil but this didn't work as well because that nylon brush is way TOO soft and didn't do the job properly. I think nylon brushes are almost useless. My next cleaning will probably be after 1,000 shots because I think I did too much of a good job and the barrel is nice and clean. Will test for accuracy again soon to see if the POI changed at all.
