Just thought some of you might be interested in a very beautiful area where I live. I had the pleasure of visiting the studio of a renown local artist, yesterday, that is famous for his work of my home, "Tidewater Virginia"

Fishermans paridise

March 16 2008, 2:38 PM

Redfeather, This really is a fisherman's paradise. I live just two miles to the ocean, and the pier, and Rudee Inlet which you can catch just about anything, sea Trout, croker, blues, spot, flounder, you name it. The deep sea boats go out at the Marina there also. I caught a white marlin years ago. Then if you want Fresh water Bass, we are loaded with creeks, lakes, etc. Come on down some time.

Boy,I realy miss living next to the ocean, for the fishing.I used to live on the coast in southern New Jersey.Used to fish every chance I could get,on the beach, jetties and the bay.If not much was happening there we would fish the creeks ,ponds, and lakes.Pretty much a year round sport.

The Outer Banks

March 16 2008, 3:32 PM

Hey Dave,Nice Pics., nice place. The one of the "Outer Banks" brings back very fond memorys to me! As a young man I was a surfer to the MAX! Fla.,Ga.,Tx., Calif., Haw. ect. Surfing for fun & the contests placed me at many nice beaches. I love them all. But by far my favorite beach of all is the Outer banks of N.C. (Cape Hatteras)!! I even moved to Morehead city to be closer. the Outer Banks is one of the only "unspoiled" beaches we have left,& in my opinion better than Haw. for that.(plus the fact the waves can be SUPER fun,yet forgiving).Hope all is well,Tim.

Surfing to the Max

Tim, surfing is one of the greatest sports ever. Rudee inlet, near my house is also the surfers beach. I have a city bike trail in front of my house that travels for about 2 miles down past the campground, and the Virgina Beach Marine Science museum then to the inlet. You can surf, fish, swim all in one spot. If you ever come down, you could also stay at the campground which is a great location to everything.

The Outer banks is about one hour south of me. A last frontier for sure. My company moved me to Kitty Hawk to open up a office there years ago. That was a real experience for sure! Pretty much got to know the people in the whole town in that time. The area is great in the summer, but one of the loneliest places on earth in the winter. Back then the whole town closed up at 7pm.

Surf's UP!!

Tim, here are some pics of Rudee inlet. You should get Harry, Warren, Rick, etc to plan a week of camping and surf this summer.
