the air gun industry has made leaps and bounds in their rifles, more and more fps. it is not 500 anymore or 1,000 some claim 1,500. better power plants, gas ram, spring, pcp and more

why is it that no one talks' about pellets in the same tone. yes we expose our ideas about which ones work better with their specific air gun, but my question is how advanced are we in the ammo dept. against the gun?

the paper tell's you which pellet is the right one for your air gun, 5 shoots @ 10 - 20 yards do not lie. which brand, weight, design (dome, wadcutter, pointed) is the best????

to me barrel, breech and pellet are key to bringing it all together by the time I pull the trigger. forget about fps, lower velocities bring higher accuracy, why is that I wonder

the design of the pellet has not changed for years, the weight has but no major innovations in the pellet department. rear weight in a bullet is important for shooting a hole in a hole but the sqirt diameter in a pellet is what counts as it travels through the barrel. air pushes the pellet in the 7.8 mil. sec. of its exit, combustion and air also does the same in gunpowder but the physics are completely different

lets talk about PELLETS

warren

PS: it is easy to fire a .22 rimfire compared to a .22 air gun, why? Pellets maybe

and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"

Think I asked about this here

Also posted on the Yellow. Do a search for my posts and it may come up. Diablo's seem the best way to go, although someone posted they were getting excellent results with the "new" Sheridan cylindricals.

Wish I could find some of these.....sigh

Hey guys, take a look at these! I have looked HIGH and LOW here in the US and in Europe and can't find them....plenty of people know of them, but can't get hooked up with them at any price....pout!

Does this mean that I am going to have to make a mold and cast my own then lathe turn them to spec?!?!? Is nothing in life even CLOSE to easy these days?!??!

Dang it...I forgot to say...

....I forgot to say that the Sheridan cylindricals only come in .20 cal (correct me if I'm wrong) AND if you look at them they have a pinched waist making a super-wee bit of a conventional skirt...I want something like a boat tail projectile like ya find in center fire rounds...like these...guess it's time to start casting and turning...totally SU-KS! -laugh-

March 16 2008, 11:22 AM

Hey Curtis, those look realy cool. Seems to me they would be great in magnum springers & pcp,s as well. Check out Airguns of Arizona, they have Wasp Eley magnum bullets (solid 30 gr.) as well as other interesting ammo.Hope this helps. Good luck in your search my friend, Tim. P.S. nice thread Warren!
