I definitely would like a 27. Those are such elegant guns in an older style. Take a look at the Winchester variants (427, 435, 450) and you'll see what I mean. BTW, I thought the 27 only came in .177 and the .22 is a 28.

What I liked most about the article is where he says he was alive when the 800 fps guns came out, like that was the Stone Age or something. Breathes there an airgun he doesn't like (besides the 35)?

The 27 came in both calibers, the 28 is a different gun. 450 seems a bit low for a 27 also, should be closer to 600.

In my somewhat limited experience 550 in a .22 M-27 using 'real world' pellets would be excellent. As Tom noted in his article the M-27 in .177 was somewhat over-hyped. As was the .22 version. Some things seldom change. Tom
