Hi, all long range springer fans. I just got these two targets at about 100 meters (110 yds) with my 460. I haven't tape measured this exactly yet, but it's within about a meter. I had just done another little session of barrel bending to get rid of my scope shims and fix the fact that she was shooting about a foot (!) to the left of LOS at 25 yds when the scope was re-centered optically. I wanted to see if there was any accuracy loss....well, I don't think so. There was still some wind, although this was the calmest day so far this spring. All shooting done at 5700 feet and 40 degrees (Brrr!) I am SOOOO ready for summer!

It's hard to see, but the center ring is about equivalent to the 10 ring on the 55 X 55 cm card, and the outer ring corresponds to the 7 ring (the black bull). I figured this out arithmetically from a .jpg of the European 100 meter target card. If I have it right, the 7 ring is 20 cm in diameter, and the 10 ring is 5cm. The Visishot 100 yd sight-in target is a pretty good facsimile of that card, and if you draw circles about a 1/16 of an inch inside the 1,2,3,and 4 inch lines out from the center with a compass, it will mimic the 10,9,8,and 7 ring. 170cm c-t-c is 6.75 inches, so there is a LOT of room for improvement.

I think I'd prefer a 100 yd max range, but what the hey, it was fun trying, and after all, IT'S A SPRINGER!

BTW, I was using 38 yds as sight-in zero, and holding 6 mildots or about 24 inches over!

CONGRATULATIONS !

Duncan, have a closer look to the cards we use on the website: www.100mairgun.nl and here you see exact what we use. Not a bad result with the heavy 460 !! I hope we will see this results in june when we have our first "big shoot" with springers and PCP's ! Thanks for your pictures and I will send them further in the Netherlands, best regards from Johannis.

Hi Johannis,

Thank you! I just noted a typo, my group was 17cm ctc, not 170cm!

I did use your picture of the card, printed it, and computed the relationship of the actual print dimensions to the known 55X55 cm.

Would you verify that the diameter of the 1 ring is exactly 50cm?
I figured each ring is 2.5cm apart, and the 10 ring diameter is 5cm.
It is then easy to draw a close replica of your target so any of us over here could try our hand at 100 meters with our Diana's.

PCP'S NEED NOT APPLY, IT'S TOO EASY FOR YOU!

Also, I bet not one in a hundred of us could find a 100 meter indoor range, so show us what you guys can do outdoors!

nice Dunan!

Good work!

My property is 101yds long but I can't shoot that far since I have neighbors on either side of the house. I can only shoot about 40-45yds in a straight line or 50~ shooting up at something in a tree.

I guess it's very important to have the right targets and scope when shooting at 100m targets. What scope did you use and what magnification?

Hi Harry,

The scope is a Centerpoint 3-9x40AO set at 9x...in fact, I've never set it at any less. I think if I was trying 100 yds all the time, I'd want a 4-16X40, but this range is just for grins and to needle PCP guys...

100 meters is a long ways for a airgun and the one thing I will point out is that your group appears to be centered so your setup is doing fantastic, I have always been plauged with airguns drifting out at further ranges and I think had wondered about the scope not being optically centered on my guns. Excellent shooting !
