I took the Pro Sport along for the ride but it stayed in the truck.I had it set in my mind that I had to give the 460 a run at the silhouettes.Tonight I started out on the pigs at thirty yards. No problem, nine out of ten knocked over hard. The turkeys at thirty yards went well with seven out of ten.I started off great on the rams at fifty but by halfway down the line I could tell the 460 cocking poundage was starting to take its toll on my left arm.I still took six out of ten.The stupid little chickens at twenty yards proved to be my biggest challenge of the night.Sighted in dead on at forty yards,I should of had to hold over 1 and a half milidots at twenty yards.Over there I,m shooting at a pretty good downward angle and it,s more like two and a half milidots.Making sure your set on the right milidot and focusing on the target got the best of me sometimes.I still killed six of the little buggers but I was hoping for better than that.Total for the night was a 28 out of 40.Last week I scored 27 with the Pro Sport with one hit that did,nt knock the ram over.It was nice to know this week that if I hit the target it was going to go down, but the longer feel of the rifle and the heavy cocking action also had some affect. Now I,m not sure which one to use next week? If you took away the two Masters scores from last week I was second best for the week. Not bad for my first year.John
I just did,,5 pushups!! Seriously I just did! Man when I was younger I could do 30 "real" ones. Just did 5 no prob. ,, I think I can do 10 or more in a pinch!LOL! Nice shooting John, I respect marksman like you. I must always look for a tree to rest against before I take a shot on Squirrels & such! From my bench rest I had many nice groups from your new 460, Glad to see from your posts you can do as well free hand shooting the "Golden Gun"!! Will send Warrens stock to you soon. Take care John, say Hi to your better half from me,Tim.
do a controled shooting session at 20, 30, 40, and 50 yards and write them in a piece of paper that fits the side of the wood stock on you 460, that way you have a "cheat paper" with the mil dots at those ranges
no more "guesstimate"
warren
and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
