Hello Everyone - I'm a new member that's recently been bitten by the air rifle bug! Bought a RWS Model 48 and am hooked on pellet guns! Looks like there's alot of good info passed around here.....
48,
I think you will enjoy this forum.there is a wealth of information here and most will help you if a problem arises.
As you can see in the index it is just one forum.Where just about everything on earth is discussed. But the real reason,,is we are all lovers of RWS-Diana Air Guns. But not Dianas exclusively. Most people here have more than one air gun and many have to many to count. The brands here run from the simple old Daisy's to the most expensive money can buy.
It really does not matter what you own or how many as long as you enjoy the sport of air gunning. If you really like shooting them it is just a matter of time before you go shopping for another then another then another I'm telling ya it will happen! LOL
A few I own by name only not by numbers RWS Diana, Daisy, FWB, Gamo, Crosman, Hahn, Marksman, Westlake, Xisco, Hi-Score, Beeman, H.Schmidt just to name a few guns.
Yes I have a problem!! It is called (Air Gun Addiction)
The worst part is there is no cure!! .LOL
I tried a 12 step program called AAA "Airgun Addicts Anonymous" after talking about our air guns for over an hour, siping on coffee and listing to the horror stories about broken springs, hair triggers, ricocheys and a sale somewhere I always ended up buying a new gun on the way home!!!I had to quit the program after 30 meetings I was going broke! And my wife was ready to divorce me!!
I think is easing up a little the addiction only calls once a month or so now,,,Thank God!!
you have just bought yourself a Mistress the 48 is a heck of an air gun, heavy but reliable it's an Aim, Shoot and hit airgun, everytimer
first air gun with the 48 then you started at the near top of the line
advice; be gentle with the sidelevers when you cock the air gun but brutal when you shoot it will deliver in SPADES, this is no beginner's air gun but not difficult to master you will find out it is a forgivin air gun
warren
PS: must welcome Model 48, just hope it is .22 cal!!
and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
Well it started like this, cold and rainy outside. Wife went to my sons to paint. I wanted to shoot but don't have a basement. Ok paced off from living room threw kitchen, threwlaundry room to furnace room wall 18FT.
This will work, went to the shed and retrieved my pellet trap i built to take a 22 rimfire and set it up on a bench against the wall in the furnace room.
Pulled the bar stools and two kitchen chairs out of the line of fire.
Pulled the RWS 460 mag out and shot 50 to 60 rounds using the back of the recliner as a front rest.
Nice way to site your gun in LOL.
Then pulled out the HW-77k and shot 50 to 60 rounds. When all said and done shot about 200 rounds. O YES that recliner with the pillow top makes a fine front rest a little big to take to the field. YES I BELONG TO AAA, but i feel so much better after my class LOL.
Welcome new member, please give use your name don't want to call you
a member all the time LOL
Ray
PS ALL DOORS WHERE LOCKED AND DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME.
The addiction is really strong, I know. Started off with a cheap walmart crosman, and got hooked. My little "Man" room is now filled up with guns, ammo and scopes. I now own about 8 guns. A great group of guys here. A lot of knowledge from some really heavy hitters. Be careful of guy's like BBgunbob, that like to show juicy pics of great guns. They are enablers to the addiction. LOL Your 48 is a fine gun.
These are my favorite shooters, the ones I always grab first when heading out the door to do a little plinking/target shooting or maybe doing an e-match with some other guys on the web.
Maybe we can get some of the others here to do a show and tell also??I'll start with my Madam Diana .22 cal. Model 48.

I got it bad I know!! LOL
The only 58 year old kid on
the block!!
i bought a P5 Magnum and was disappointed in the power department! It did not help that the first time I broke it open it shaved a chunk out of the breech seal. I turned the o-ring over and got a couple of shots out at a bit more power, but it still seemed to be lacking in the power department. I turned to co2 for more power... I would still be interested in the P5, but it really seems to be lacking the power department for anything other than small birds or mice (incidentally, I enjoy paper punching, but only with a firearm suitable for use as hunting gun!)
Welcome, I too have a 48 in .22, I bought it from a guy who had 2 large gun safes full, and occasionally would disappear deep into his cave and produce from a secret source a special model,He had an enclosed back porch that was a staging area for testing and put the 48, on the window ledge on a towel and let me shoot a three shot gruop at a spinner 30 yrds away with iron sites, he said he just tuned it a little, tar or something, he had the spotting scope and let me look through it to see the clover i created, I had already had him tune my Ft gun , a model 54 and bought 2 more that day, that was 1989 , i just recently got back into the Field Target Shooting, and of course went through a buying spree, also sold one, just ask BBGUN BOB,
in short, LOL, I love my 48,
Jerry
Being new here I did not realize I was posting as "Anonymous" on the first post....
I've used numerous "cheap" airguns over the years, the 48 is the answer to wanting a quality air rifle. Yes its a .22. Shoots like a laser! The only problem, I've tried out a few airguns/pistols (since I got bit bad by the bug) and none are acceptable in the accuracy and power department after the 48! I've got a couple co2 pistols on the way, we'll see how they do.
Had quite a time getting the 48 set up, but once everything was dialed in, she shoots like a dream.
Thanks again and I'm looking forward to wandering round here....
Welcome to the Diana forum Bob! We look forward to chatting with you.
I noticed you mentioned "power" a couple of times. Do I take it you hunt with the 48 .22? Most of us here use airguns to do the same, so don't be afraid to talk about your hunting adventures with your 48.
Welcome Bob! If you haven't already, before long you too will be setting up in the hall the way Ray does. (and a few more I know who do but will not name haha)
The adjustments screws are great but a little moly on the sear can do wonders.
I'm another one with too many airguns. And I sold off three more a few weeks ago.
Just Funnin Bob,Tim here. You are seeing a comparison to "BB gun Bob". He is truly a bad influence to all here who suffer from an addiction to airguns. Do not look at any of his posts, he lures you in w/nice posts about other things,BUT if you read them backwards, you will soon be stealing from your own family to buy the latest/greatest new airguns! Do not trust him,, he is the Devil I say!! Seriously, Welcome Bob, You have joined a site that has some of the best people you could ever hope to associate with, not to mention the wealth of airgun knowledge here is second to none! Welcome Bud,Post on! Tim.
Hey Bob, (not you bb gun!) Tim here! Just remembered you said somthing about some new c-o2 pistols you ordered?? I dont talk about them much here,(I tend to walk a thin line as to getting "banned" here as it is!!) Feel free to shoot me a mail if you like, I love my little XX pistols, they are great fun when set up right. timmyj1959@yahoo.com Good Shooting Bud,,Tim.
Yes I "hunt" with the 48. Latest kill - Squirrell at 41 yds (ranger finder) from the kitchen window! hunting aside, plinkng at steel cans at 40 yards and getting complete pass throughs is a testament to the power of this air gun! Very few pellet guns on the market have that kind of power. Ive burried pellets into oak pallets at 40 yards when the average air gun will only leave a barely discernable dent on the hard oak. Accuracy is unbelievable - now that I've learned how to shoot a springer....
My appologies to anyone not liking c02 guns. I'll still enjoy them. This is a Diana forum however and I can respect that. Although i think it was just a joke about people not liking them.........
anyway - glad to be here.
i like co2 also ( sry but my beeman r9 maks me mad ) that thing is getting 3in. groops no not at 150 yds at 15yds 6in. low with 10.5 gr. crosmans ( the ones with the bb in the end cant remimber the name ) i dont thenk this is natrale can some 1 send me in the right drection or buy it
I am the proud current owner of 10 Diana air rifles but alas... I recently gave in to temptation and purchased my first co2 pistol a Walther CP99 (but hey it's made in Germany so thats gotta count for something) I stand before this collective awaiting their judgement.
I think alot of us have more than one brand of air guns. I love my rws 460 mag
its one of the hardest shooting mags out there. Even my RX2 20cal shoots
100fps slower than my 460 both shootig 14.3 cps.And its the gun i'll pick up when i go to the woods for coyote. I know i can bring one down at 50yrds
with it and if i miss its not the guns fault its mine and thats what i think of the 460 RWS mag. I have the same love of my HW77k But im an air gunner, i think that says it all.
