Mystery tube????????

As some of you have surmised I'm kinda new to Diana's. All these years
in the wilderness, spending my time with HW's and a much loved FWB 124.

I am making up for lost DIANA time.

Now to the subject at hand, I have a 46 Stutzen that is plainly marked
TO1 and the year of manufacture on the Tube, yet the trigger assembly looks like a TO5. Shoots great and trigger is fine.

But am puzzeled by anomaly. Is it mismarked? or Can TO1 and TO5 trigger units
interchange in tube, I am aware that the piston rods are different and pistons would need to be changed out.

Any ideas?????

Sylvan

The Stutzen did ship with a T01 before the T05

April 17 2008, 5:48 AM

Hi Sylvan,

No, there is nothing odd with the Stutzen having a T01 trigger unless the date of manufacture which is stamped into the side of the receiver/tube body is after 2001-2002. I forget right off hand what the last year was that Diana shipped out guns with the T01 trigger - it was either 2001 or 2002.

What is the manufacture date on your gun?

But I DO know for a fact that Stutzen's with a manufacture date of 2000 had the T01 trigger unit.

Mine had a manufacture date of 11/00 and it had the T01...

Those are SWEET guns to be sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't ever let that one go.....it's a keeper!!!

What kind of #'s are ya getting with that FINE-AS-HECk RhineMaiden?

Mine gave consistant High 770's to Low 780's with 8.4g JSB Exacts...beautiful gun indeed!

Sincerely,

-Curtis

T01 to compare to a T05

April 17 2008, 8:38 AM

Hi Sylvan,

I had both of these pics on my server so I thought that I would post them for you to look at.

I should have done that in the first place, but I am on a business trip and was having a pre-dawn munchie and sending Harry (only1harry) an email; I should have mentioned the 2 screws on the trigger blade as well...damm I need to get home to my own bed!!

I know that you already saw them, but I am going to put these pics up for others to view as it may help.

This is a T05 trigger unit - complete - Note the 1 adjustment screw on the trigger blade on this T05

This is a T01 trigger unit - complete - Note the 2 adjustment screws on the trigger blade on this T01

Here is a cool trivia question for all of you long time Diana-heads....

What year did Diana switch from metal trigger blades to using the plastic ones on the T01 trigger unit?

Now that should be a good question that I have never seen asked on any forum...

Sincerely,

-Curtis

Good morning Sylvan. I tried to call you with information on the stock carving my gunsmith does. Your voice mail is full so I was not able to leave a message. He would charge $125.00 to carve it if you want it unfinished. It's about another $200.00 to finish it.

I think he's asking if it's a T0-5 trigger

April 17 2008, 7:15 AM

Could be you've got some kind of transitional model. Maybe an older tube with the newer trigger? Why not post a pix of the trigger assembly if you can?

Also, someone may have replaced the original T01 with a T05 to correct a problem or something. Someone was asking on the board last week about making just such a swap, IIRC?
