Just saw them on their website. I don't remember them ever offering refurbished guns. Maybe Natchez or Mid South, but not Cabela's. Maybe from Umarex?

Would almost have to be Umarex

Maybe they signed some kind of exclusive deal to be the only retailer of the refurbed guns. I just called Umarex last Thursday inquiring about a refurb M52 (which they didn't have). As far as I know they, Umarex, are still selling refurbed guns directly to the consumer. Maybe Cabelas is trying to increase it's sales of airguns by offering RWS refurbs, seeing how the price of the (new) European products has  gone up recently. The questiojn I would have is could you return a refurb to Cabelas or would you have to deal with Umarex for repair or replacement.

Definitely from Umarex

and you would certainly have to return them to Umarex, unless the reseller/retailer has a 30-day return policy or something similar. However there are several vendors that have a nice return-no questions-asked policy, but do not apply it to RWS guns and specifically state on their web site that the gun must be returned to Umarex.

My guess is that
A. a reseller complained about Umarex selling a lot of refurb guns, taking away some business from them, which forced Umarex to sell them through their resellers..\
B. Umarex thought the guns would sell faster through their resellers
C. or both.
