I just bought one..

but won't receive it until next week. Got it off Gunbroker for $115. Best price I could find on the net was $165. Read good stuff about Hawke scopes but guess they are mostly available in Europe. This is a 4-12x40AO scope and I hear are very rugged scopes for airguns. I have already downloaded the software which is really pretty cool and can be useful for anyone with any scope. Ballistic Reticle Calculator can be downloaded at:

I'll let you know.

Cheers

I just got a Varmint II 3-12x44 a few days ago, so far so good. Optics seem good, I like the MilDot reticle although it only has 5 dots instead of 7 like my CenterPoint 3-9x40. I like the turrets, the old style with a cap. I can't comment yet on it's ability to hold zero, I haven't shot it enough. One other thing I noticed is that it's exit pupil is not as large as the CP
at the same power...not a lot different, but noticeable...actually that probably helps with parallax since you can't get your eye as far off center. Brightness is slightly better than the CP, edge to edge sharpness is definitely better.

I put it on a 460, so we'll see how it holds up. Seems like a good scope in the $150 dollar range. I bought the Varmint over the Airmax solely because of the reticle.
