Hi guys,
I have been thinking of doing a ceramic coating job on one of my 350s (Matt Titanium Blue mixed with Matt Graphite Black); I did one on a Glock 21 I once had and it was amazing!!
I had thought of doing a bluing job like on the OLD American-Made Winchesters(slow rust bluing with nitric acid - I love doing those as the process is really fun and rewarding), but to be honest I am getting a bit tired of blued guns again (a phase I go through from time to time).
The only thing that would be a possible "negative" would be to loose the Diana Logo (would be happy as sin to loose the dammed RWS logo). I could engrave the Diana logo following the lines as a template (which would be a luxury for that kind of work) so as not to loose it (burry it) in the coating process.
That got me to thinking, "I wonder just how important the picture of little Lady Di is to other people....?"
SO what do you all think...is she important to you or would you be willing to loose her in favor of an incredibly beautiful and ultra durable finish?
Just bought another one! Will be here soon!!!! I LOVE the work you do Curtis. Im torn on this one. "Chopper" is my baby, LOL!! Have 3 other "Ladys", Ya got time?? Tim.( Talk to you monyana)
If you are going to refinish the gun, it would be entirely up to you

There's no collector value, so it's your choice. Personally, it would not bother me to lose the logo in the process. But it is a rather nice logo, so finding a way to relocate it or etch it back in may be a nice touch.
On the old bluing, sometimes the finish/color depends upon the iron content of the metal. Don't know how your Diana will take to a rust blue. Laurel Mountain Forge rust blue is supposed to be a very nice one.
in my case I have voided the UMAREX warranty on ALL my Diana's, from the $200.00 all the way to the $500.00 ones, WHY?
because to me it is a matter of choice and taste. if you are sure that the refinish will enhance the air gun and you will like the final product then GO FOR IT
warren
PS: Curtis, they are still a Diana with mod's or stock
and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
It's really personal preference I think. I would like the Diana logo (not the RWS though) to remain on my Dianas but if refinishing the barrel is your priority and will make it more durable and look much better, it then depends on what will make you happy. I don't think most of us will miss the logo. We may feel like something is missing the first few weeks, but I think one will probably get used to it quickly.
Stop bothering Curtis! He has to finish my 350 first before taking on any more work Besides, I 'm up next with my 2nd 350 (that I will be buying) that will need a .25cal conversion Get on line buddy and grab a number, hehehe
He is probly working on your 350 right now,, Im gonna call him now & talk to him for an hour or so!! LOL! Just bought a Panther from Gene, he is going to tune it for me & make a custom shroud! Warren is sending Gene a JM kit for me. I have ALOT of questions for Curtis regarding this matter, when he gets off the phone with me I doubt he will have any energy left to work on your gun!! Man I love to torment you! Dont try to call me Harry for the next 2 or 3 hours,, Ill be on the phone with Curtis! He He! Tim.
