I know its not a Diana, but I don't think I'll get to much scolding for showing you guy's what I did to my .22 Cal.Benji-Discovery.
It seemed a little short from butt-pad to trigger,I always felt scrunched up shooting it.So I decided to add an inch of pull to the stock. While I had it down I said what the heck I'll give her the whole nine yards.I stripped down the ugly factory dark brown dipped looking stain, and underneath was a beautiful piece of walnut lumber. With the help of Paul Hatton Hot Rod/Showcar pinstripper This is what I came up with.
I'm still waiting on parts from Roy at MountainAir (brass power adjuster, and muzzle break/LDC) before I can put the action back in the stock.

Some ideas are universal Bob

May 12 2008, 5:53 PM

I think your custom job is a tribute to a man's love for his gun regardless of the make and model.

Women call it "tinkering", men call it "making it mine"; but regardless of what it is called, I LOVE to see what some motivation and some thoughtful use of time and materials can yield! I have seen stuff done to all sorts of guns, both air and powder, that gave me GREAT ideas; that is why I like to see when people are doing/have done with their stuff, be it cars, boats, planes, guns, computers, etc.

If nobody had ever pounded a hole in a round rock and stuck a branch through it, would the WHEEL have ever been invented? Makes ya wonder just how much fuss'en that guy got when he returned to the ol' cave and showed it to his woman - LOL. Steph just rolled her eyes at me as I sit here typing and said that "...that the dumb caveMAN brought a round rock with a stick through it back to the cave and told his woman that he called it a "wheel"....SHE asked him where are the breaks?!!?!!?

Will we EVER get a break guys?!?!? LOL

Anyway Bob, I looks like a good job and I'm sure that you will smile EXTRA BIG when ya taking it shooting and people comment on it!! After all, that is part of the joy of modding your own stuff!!

I like the pin striping

Kind of like some of the fancy wire work you see on custom flintlocks. Heck, why not? Sure looks better than a cross-eyed moose or deer "custom carved" into the stock. Good job on the butt, too.

Racy!!!!

May 13 2008, 12:44 PM

Guess some things we never grow up off.

Racy cars, racy guns, racy women . . .

ROFL!

Getting serious, it is a nice gun. Doubt I would take it hunting, but heck, not everybody hunts!

Congrats!

Un Abrazo!

As long as it doesn't scare the horses

Why not hunt with it? Nothing worse than someone buying a best gun and then keeping it out of the direct sunlight. He can always refinish it, again. Heck, even if he doesn't fill his bag, he will certainly turn some heads.

Bob!! I really like the glossy look.

Curtis: Is my stock going to look anything like this?

Scare the horses? or the prey?

May 14 2008, 5:03 PM

LOL!

I could actually picture the scene!

Or maybe the acryllic stock extension will act as a magnifying glass and burn our good friend's boot in the sunlight! LOL!

I guess there are no rules anywhere. It is a nice gun and if he feels like hunting in it, then he should go for it!

Sometimes we all get trapped in our little pre-conceptions.

Keep well!

Un Abrazo!
