Hi Curtis, guess what?

I finally got both the BKLD4 and the new Hawke 3-12X44 Varmint II mounted and zeroed on the 460. It was actually calm at the range this morning, so I took a few groups at 38 yds for zero, which seemed OK but not that great, but also didn't seem to move much. I also tried an even more gentle Artillery Hold, nestling into the sandbags until I could almost let go of the gun completely, just barely touching my cheek to the comb, and using just two fingers to pull.

This was the result at 100 yds:

Ignore the .45 holes from the next guy over!

So maybe my damn POI shift is really gone...I sure hope so
It's only taken five months and a couple hundred more dollars!

PS, I was too busy trying out my new RWS 850 to shoot more groups....besides, quit while your ahead, I always say!

Good shooting. That's a nice group at 100yds. I think your problems are over.

If I recall I had advised you to try out a BKL mount with some drop compensation a while back. It looks like you 're all set now. I take it you like that Hawke scope? I 've been looking at them too..

My next move

Thats what I'm doing next time my 350 breaks a scope or starts shooting all over the county again. But I will have to turn the # 7 (not 4 like Duncan) twards the barrel not the stock to compensate for my barrel pointing high not drooping. And I guess I will put my big RWS scope on it. It just makes for such a big heavy rig for hunting though. I'm not to crazy about turning it into a moose rig again. That group you shot Duncan is all a good shooting (not match) .22 LR can do @ that range,Not bad dude.
