Warren, Curtis, Dave, Tim and others: on the 7-th of june we have our second 100 meter event and there will be one spring powered Diana versus 23 PCP's ! I will let you know what the Diana results are and will send you some pictures of the cards ! I am very curious to the results but I have to say the PCP boys are real marksmen !! Best regards from Johannis. ( Tim, Dutch postservice is looking what happened with the package and this can take aa week, perhaps in the mean time it will come to your house, before I send you another mount I must be sure the postservices must have made a mistake. )

Who are the TRUE marksmen?

May 29 2008, 1:42 PM

To shoot a springer alongside a PCP takes a greater level of skill and control. It's like shooting well off-hand against a benchrest. They really should have two classes of shooters. (Of course, those with Diana's have all the class.)

23 against 1

May 29 2008, 3:38 PM

it is just not fair and PCP agains spring

Jan, a spring air gun cannot compete against a PCP at 100 mtrs, it cannot compete against 10 mtrs., also

Bold men in the Netherlands, cold blooded men that try to compete with hammers and saw's against AIR tools'

give me a 50% advantage and I will bet on the spring air gun and I am not a betting man

regards

warren

and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"

Reminds me of another fellow

John Henry was a steel driving man. Ah, if you can beat the machine (read PCP)!

Ummm.......

...what??? 'Cryptic Post of the Month' nomination!

Getting back to the thread, RE: Springers @ 100 yds, see my post here:

http://www.network54.com/Forum/79537/message/1211838466/MOA+%40+100yds++--+with+a+springer-

A good gun in still conditions can acquit itself nicely.

J, concerning deleted posts...

May 29 2008, 7:05 PM

This is the one and only time I will deal with this subject on this thread. Any further communication will be handled outside of this forum. My email is also freely available.
I sent you an email concerning your post at 8:35PM eastern time explaining why I was about to delete your post. Since you either have not received this or have not read it I will clarify my action now. Expressing your opinion of someone's actions in a related thread is fine, hijacking a thread which is entirely unrelated to do so is not. If you or anyone else does not agree with this, please feel free to contact me.

Russ S.

P.S. Jan, I am sorry for the interruption.

Match,

May 29 2008, 10:14 PM

Dear Diana friends: thanks for your ( sometimes emotional ! ) reply. There is a special award for the -till now- 3 spring powered shooters because they're a class on their own. I mentioned some shaking of the head but I can assure you all that the spring powered boys will be pampered by the PCP boys ! Try to open your mind for somthing different: how will your life be when Diana show you their line of PCP's in 2009 ? Do you say that no one will buy one ? Gents: there is not a greater fan of mechanical powered rifles than I am but when they write "Diana Super Stutzen" on a BSA Sportsman I will buy one immediately !! Compared well Warren: hammer and saw against ....., I like your opinion and I will send you some tins of the new Diana High Power pellets !! I keep you informed about THE match gentlemen, best regards from Johannis.

Johannis I wish you all the LUCK

May 30 2008, 7:54 AM

in the world!
Very admirable of you to take on the PCP guys. You are like the 300 Spartans that went up against 1/2 million Persians knowing they could not win (from one European to another). You know it too but decided it do it anyway. We all know 100yd target shooting is PCP territory. That 's a very gutsy move my friend and you are to be commended.

We all support you and wish you success in the upcoming competition.

Harry

100 meter match,

May 31 2008, 6:00 AM

Dear Diana fans: let me explain some misunderstanding because I am NOT one of the boys joining our shoot on the 7-th of June. Together with 3 other airgun enthousiasts we are the "100 METER CREW". I have done several attempts to see what's possible and I will sympathise with the spring powered shooters on our match. Later this year ( september ) we organize shoot number 3 and perhaps there will more spring powered shooters. Wish the crew and the shooters all luck for next saturday !! Best regards from Johannis.

Best of lucks!

May 30 2008, 8:06 PM

There is still some time to prepare till the 7th of June.

IF you are only going to do ONE thing, I would suggest you calibrate (and lube if you do not already do so) your pellets. Either use the rolling technique or any other you want, such as the old BIC pen, but at your developmental stage, I guess that is the single most relevant addition you can make.

Get a lot of selected pellets and practice, practice, practice!

Don't let yourself be coyed by the PCP crowd. You just go out there and do your best.

Suerte y un abrazo!

Héctor

PS.- were you ever able to check the target I posted? Just curious. If I can I will also shoot that date using the target posted.
