I own both in both calibers. You're going to like both of them, but the longer you shoot the 48, it will probably become the more favored gun if you're a long range shooter. A lot more stable, meaning a lot more accurate on longer shots, and able to put a heaver pellet further downrange with greater accuracy.
If it were me I would 've done it the other way around. 34 in .177 and 48 in .22. The 34 in .177 will have a much nicer (flatter) trajectory than the .22 version shooting at ~650fps. That's just me and my preference from my personal experience of owning a 36 .177 (same as 34) and an 850 .22 that shoots low 600's. Everyone is different of course..

I have an RWS 460 in .22 for hunting. I wanted the Model 48 in .177 for target shooting. And the 34 doesn't really matter. It's going to be my "Walk through the woods all morning and shoot whatever I want to" gun.
