Nice find, I have a 336 and a 39A. I have Skinner sights on both of mine and it sure seems more natural than a scope on a good lever gun. Let us know how she shoots when you get a chance to test her out.

Off Topic, but nice!

I also favour peep sights in lever guns. Do try them at some point.

My Grandfather had exactly the same gun and we used to hunt deer with it.

Thanks for bringing back all those nice and somewhat forgotten memories!

I thought it was the Walther co2 copy of the 1894 until I was a few feet from it. Funny how the mind works, I'd been secretly wishing for one of those ...for the nephews to shoot when they come over, of course. But as soon as it clicked in my head that "that ain't no co2 gun" and I looked at it and then picked it up and looked at it again, well I knew that I'd found a nice piece of Americana and in my opinion a beautiful work of art. Hector, I like peep sights, you read my mind. James, those skinners look well made, thanks for the link. Tim, I hope we don't get an after-post edit button, because I sure like reading your posts.

Just A Lil Ole Bit Off Topic!!

June 30 2008, 3:50 PM

Thanks Mr. Mc Ginty for your kind words,, that one sentence REALLY made my day!! I was reluctant to reply to your post when I saw it,, But,, I just could not stop myself!!LOL!! Dave (ZVP)owner of Diana Werks & Russ (Moderator) have shown a level of tolerance for posts in the past not "directly" related to airguns. Lord knows I have slipped a few in myself!!LOL!! I see that James & Hector replyed as well! That is truly a great find Buddy,, the 336/30-30 is one fine "Brush Busting" Deer Rifle,, & in my opinion one of the TRUE CLASSICS!! Now I gotta get off this "puter",, pack up John in PA,s stock so I can hit the PO. tommorow (A Webly stock),, then I gotta call my Buddy "J" & see what its gonna take for me to get my grubby paws on that 50 cal. Dragon Slayer (Air Rifle) before Deer season!! Uh Oh,, Webly stock,,,, Dragon Slayer,, 336/C powder burner,,What am I thinking man???? This is DIANA WERKS!! If it is of any consolation,, Im gonna shoot my Diana 350 (Chopper) & my 34 some today also!!HE HE HE!! Tim.
