Man ,I have a lot of questions dont know where to start really.
I recently bought a RWS 34 .22 I went back to get some pellets 3 weeks later and came home with a 460 magnum .(shakes head) It wasnt there the first time or I would have got it first. (I swear!)
Anyway Id like to ask some questions :
What does RWS stand for ?
How difficult is it to take down and clean and lube ? and can you post a link where I might learn to tune up my 460 and 34 . I dont really want to change the spring , but look for some flaw points .
how hard is it to change the seals? and can someone post a link?
steel or brass trigger I can buy and install myself? link
I have problems with both guns on the first few shots , They seem to be fliers then it tends to settle down a bit. why is that?
I have used a military grade white lithium grease and used it on the grease points of my 34 . I cant tell you how much smoother it tends to shoot.
Would there be any reason it wouldnt work as well on my 460 ?
Of course my scope never holds true after 3 shots on the magnum . its very frustrating . before I spend another 65 bucks on the b square mounts are they worth it?
are the 177. more accurate in general than the 22 ?
I saw the 350 in a panther style on the RWS site would Umarex be able to get one for me ?
Im a new guy , and I haven't shot an airgun in a long time till recently.
I think I found my inner kid.lol. I remember I had a 34 a long time ago which I sold, and boy was she a killer .I wasnt aware of the inflation numbers of FPS when I bought my guns recently. I was more than a little mad when I found out.
Then I took them to the range and my 460 promptly broke . I fired it and I guess the hinge lock or something snapped when I fired it. The sliding lock on the side flew back gouged the wood on my stock, and the underneath was gouged also . I sent it back to Umarex , and I should get back this week.
I was thinking about buying a 350 magnum in 177 and a panther pro in 177 but now Im not so sure I want to invest a small fortune in RWS guns . as they will all need $65 mounts. they seem to be having some problems with production, most likely subbing out the work .
I have to say, I missed some very close shots with both guns on squirrel's. I belive due to the scope or the first shot tending to be fliers .
I had made head shots on rats and squirrels (Im a mellon popper) at 15 yards with a Gammo and haven't had the same problems Ive been running into on the RWS guns.
Ive probably shot about about 500 -800 through each so far
I whacked a squirrel today with my 34 , It appears it was the same one I missed recently as it had a nice clean hole through its ear. LOL.
I hit it him at the remarkably long range of 15 yards ! with JSB predators. he didn't like it much, he fell almost stone dead from the tree .
I was very impressed with the stopping power , however at that range I figured my 34 and the predator's would go through him .It didn't.
Granted it would have to travel the length of his body as I hit him in the throat while he was facing me . But I just wanted some perspectives on some things here .
I read an assload of posts and have learned a lot so far . Talk to ya
Hi. Yeah. I think we can go through at least a pot . I ve been reading a lot of posts and it seems these Dianas have some issues. There real beauty's and it seems a shame to have such prolems with them .
I was thinking it might be the German engineering made have made the tolerance's a little too tight . Ie: No room for error.
I hope I can get my magnum on target . I cant get my scope to hold true very long and its frustrating.
