Man is it just me or are there a lot of these suddenly available?
I know they stopped making them in 2006 and dunno when they stopped importing them but they have never been common. A year or so ago I got my hands on one and love it, of course getting pellets for it can be quite bothersome but what can ya do? Today I went on the usual sites looking for bargains Gunbroker, Auctionarms, airgun classifieds, Yellow Page, etc... and found three different people selling .20 cal model 48's and at reasonable prices no less!!!
so if anyone is a Diana collector or is fond of Diana "Underdogs" here is one for ya. Act now cause they will someday be worth a good bit.

If ya EVER get a chance to shoot one of these beauties with:

.20 cal H&N SILHOUETTE (11.42 gr)
.20 cal Beeman Field Target Specials (11.45)
.20 cal Kodiak Extra Heavy (13.38 gr)
.20 cal Benjamin Cylindricals (14.35 gr)
.20 cal Premiers (14.3 gr)

, you'll die with a smile on your face....guaranteed!!!!!!

They shoot hard as heck and flat as a young .....no......flat as her......can't use that one either....flat as ....

Awwwwwww heck....they shoot hard and flat to 45-50 yards ...especially with the .20 cal Kodiak Extra Heavy (13.38 gr) which is a heavier mid-weight pellet in this range!!

I tuned mine with a bronze guide and a Trivar tophat in a Venom FAC spring....the Maccari setup for these guns is supposed to be incredible!!

I don't know if the Venom kits are available anymore, but I am sure that with a little pok'en around across the pond, ya MIGHT be able to come up with one....I'd look for a JM spring as I am sure that would be much easier!

That seems to be a nice caliber for the power plant

Lots of folks like the .20 as it's a nice balance between the .177 and .22. I just picked up an older Blue Streak and tried some of the new Benjamin cylindricals. That old Streak (rocker safety model) sure did like them. They are slightly wasted as compared to the original "trash can" design and have been reported to be much more accurate. Plus they are 14.3 grains, same as most .22's. I would think they lend themselves to longer distance shooting as a result of that weight.

Big fan of the .20's here but, as mentioned, ammo isn't the easiest in the world to find. Been even thinking about making a .22>.20 swage.

As to the number of 48's seen recently in that caliber, probably just a coinkydink.
