this happen ? Did you have it fixed, do it yourself ? Ideas ? I just got a nice one and FedEx was not kind to it. Still in claim process, looking to fix it & keep it. Just wondering if anyone has had this happen ? Thanks
of no.72, the rod that the action slides on. I have a claim in process against FedEx but I expect they'll try to weasel out of it because the outside carton doesn't look beat up. Umarex didn't think they could handle it but my gunsmith said he could fix it in a few hours. I just hope to prevail and have FedEx foot the bill. It was very well packed, in a couple of layers of bubble wrap inside a hard plastic gun case. The case was then a snug fit in a cardboard box, well taped. The cardboard box held up so well because the gun case supported it from inside such that it merely served as a "skin" and wasn't required structurally. I sent a letter along with my claim in hopes of swinging opinion to my side... they've not denied it yet, anyway. I may try to fix it myself if they don't pay any damages at all. I was curious if anyone else had this part break.. probably unusual for it to happen. Thanks for the offer... airgunners are a nice lot...
so far. I aligned the front assembly as close as I could with JB weld and gave it 24 hours to set. Accuracy is good, and I don't notice any recoil to speak of, I don't lose the sight picture on firing, so I'm happy.
Hi Mike,
I wouldnt keep such critical part welded too long. Furthermore, it
looks to me that it is a high quality stainless steel part (I have 177 version of the 54), which means welding may not hold much time. Do not linger
with replacing it with a new part...
