I believe it was BBgun bob who posted one like this awhile back and I had to give it a try.It started life as a $99.00 Crosman Storm. I did a hone, polish and lube tune on it and added a CDT trigger.Next I sent the barrel off to Rich in Michigan for a Walther Lothar 20cal barrel and full shroud. Put it all together and you get one sweet shooting rifle.Aint to bad looking either! Puts little FTS pellets on top of each other at forty yards.
Something to do between tunes! Have'nt had much spare time lately and I want to Thank all the guys at the Diana forum for that.Without this forums help I would,nt be doing many tunes. Thanks guys! ,John in PA
Not bad at all! That's a sweet lil rig ya got there...and on a budget as well excluding the barrel job, but whatever the cost it had to be worth it for a tight grouper like that, and in .20 cal! What are your intended uses for it?
What kind of difference in sound does a shroud make on a springer? I'm wanting to turn my model 34 into a short, easy handling, quiet rifle with a small, fixed 4x scope for close (10-25ish yards) quarters hunting. After Tim cuts my barrel down, I wanted to work on the noise department but I wasn't sure of my options on quieting a springer.
Although mine was a Crosman Quest it is the same internals.
With a good tune and trigger job they can be made to be a real nice shooter with a ton of power. And that .20 L/W barrel is hard to beat.
Rich told me at the time I had mine done the L/W barrels love the .20 cal.Beeman FTS pellets,he was not kidding either.Give them a try! off a bench you should get 1 hole shots @ 20 yards(60 ft.) at close to if not over 900fps..That is the extent of my backyard.
I liked mine so much I just bought another one to use to shoot frogs and turtles out of a boat, with just iron sights and a laser underneath.
I think I'll leave this one at .177 although the power of the .20 is hard to beat. The next time we go out I'll take both and see which one works best.
John,,you may want to try the Sheridan Cylindrical pellets also,a harder round with a few more gr's of weight. There not to far off in the accuracy department either but you will have to adjust your sights for the POI.
Enjoy
BBGun Bob
My .20 cal. Quest Light was replaced with laser.

is hard to beat. are they made by BAM or one of the other chinese companies? at that price point they could not be made here. not a value judgement at all
on my part nore meant to start a discussion on the vertues of chinese guns or products.
does maraccir make anything for it that can be adapted? or rich from mich? (other than the barrel).
i noticed you told old tim he had to give it back on saturday...ha!!!...that's funny!!! btw, thanks john for the great tune you did on the 54 for me!!!...its great!!!!
