D34 cocking arm pin

Hey guys, I took the barrel off my 34 and the cocking arm which attaches to the barrel block via a pin with a clip had to come off...

I punched the pin out and the clip came out too. Was this supposed to happen? I can't get the clip back in. The pin has a notch in it I believe to accept the clip and keep it from falling out whilst in use. How do I get it back on?

What???!!!

You are supposed to take the circlip off first. Then the pin can be pushed out by hand easily.
Did you drive out the pin with a hammer and punch? Or did you remove the circlip first?

The clip is not damaged at all. The groove on my pin is tapered and it slipped out with a firm tap from a punch and handle of a screwdriver.

There's no edit option? But edit to above post...

I just can't get the clip back on. It's about 99% flat and in perfect shape. It won't stay still so I can push it back onto the pin.

OK

Just take a pair of pliers and CAREFULLY and GENTLY close the circlip a little. Then with the pin out of the gun, push it onto the groove and see if it closes tightly on the pin.
Be careful. These things go flying away and get lost easily.

I was doing that but it wouldn't stick.

I finally got it though and now it works perfect. I forgot to put a tid of lube on there first though.

no thank you?

A simple thanks from John to Rob would have been nice. That really bothers me, that people volunteer their time here to help others, and don't even get a "thank you". Unfortunately it's becoming more common. Must be the new generation or something..

John was over his head on this one and Rob just went out of the fly. LOL sometimes you forget to say Thank You, but it is there if you look for it close enough
