I think I have an airgun problem. I mean I am shooting most of my spare time up. I was quite okay until I moved to the country and now I shoot way more than before. I have about 10 airguns and I estimate shooting around a couple thousand shots a month based on all the empty tins of pellets. I was just wondering how much everyone else shoots and if I should seek professional help with the addiction.
I'am just like you. Right now I'm mad at pyramydair for not sending my 2000 pellets. Shooting pellets I don't like to shoot right now. If you talked with them tell them to send my darn pellets!
I can see that airgunning CAN become an addiction. Do you feel like you NEED to shoot? Is airgunning all you think about? Do you feel bad like you really need a cigarette or such and then shooting satisfies it?
If so you may be addicted.
So you know it's quite easy to shoot 2,000 pellets in a weekend. I was talking on the phone shooting off hand yesterday .
Hi ! My name is John and I,ve been a addict for five years now!

I have my own range in my backyard. A indoor 10 yard range at my company across the street. I can shoot 20 feet in my gun shop and somedays I still pack up a couple rifles and head for the ranges at the Sportsmans club.Between my rifles and customers rifles I can,t remember a day that I have,nt pulled a trigger in years.Sometimes I shoot to releave stress and sometimes shooting stress's me out. I love it just the same.
Hello Addicted Air Gun Guy's
Here's another tale of the same addiction we all suffer from. Its called (AGA) Air Gun Addiction it only strikes a few but it is a world wide addiction(the UK is probably second to USA). But it runs deep in each of its victims with no professional help available for those who suffer the pain and expense of this highly contagious disease.
Oh Yes!!! It is a very contagious disease! With out even knowing it,,, Even friends are drawn in by the shooter(addict) by a simple ""Hey pal why don't you come over this Saturday and we can do a little plinking and drink a few brewski's in the back yard,,, You can use one of my air guns and don't worry about pellets,, "I have a million of them for us to shoot"This is a person with a serious addiction trying his darnedest to drag his buddy down to his level and way of thinking. And so it goes.Within a week or so he and his buddy are out looking to buy the victim(his buddy) with his new disease(although he does not know he's got it yet) a new air rifle and guess who knows exactly where to go to cop one?? Wives could setup a sting for these people!!! Dunhams,Sportsmans Warehouse,Dicks,Cabela's just to name a few would be a good place to start these stings.
The air gun forums are like "Air Gun Annomonus" with side rooms for those who are cross addicted and the disease has spread to not only buying a new gun when the addiction calls.,but as the addict gets worse it will also make you start buying Cronographs,Scopes,Diopter sights,Muzzle Breaks,Custom Stocks,LDC's,Pellet holders,Pellet collecting,Target collecting and lets not forget the day dreaming about a new target that could be made and shot at with a air gun!!!.
Some are so addicted they start there own forum ( No names mentioned he he he )

Happy Shooting

I used to have a life now I have air guns(lots of them) and forums(more than 5).I am a sick man??? Yes!, Happy?? Yes!
More air guns than I really need NO!
In a calm day i shoot and 400-600 pellets with 2-3 different guns espessialy if i want to try a scope-pellet-distance or some tuning in the rifle ! Some days more than 600. In windy days and summer couse of hot, not over 100-200 pellets. I dont know what to do in winter ! Thats way i prever spring toys and not pcp ! Yes i am addicted. Xristos.
since i was about 7 years old...getting close to 50 now...cant shoot as often as I would like to due to space/time constraints now, but this should be rectified shortly... I shoot about 100 shots per week at 25m to keep in form.
When I'm testing something or other, i go through about 250 pellets in about 1 day.
Its all good fun and very relaxing.
and i am getting worse instead of better and i know its not the guns. i think stress and fatigue (unrelated to shooting) has an effect. i rode my mountain bike this morning on hard hill route. heart rate in the 90 percent of maximum range. this afternoon i can't shoot for sour apples. i can see my heart beat in the front sight movement because i am not recovered from the ride. tomorrow may be better after a night sleep and no ride tomorrow.
i also notice that things deteriorate when i drink strong caffienated coffee.
Larry, You're headed in the right direction. My freehand competition does'nt start until January but I started getting ready about three weeks ago. The night before the weekly match I make sure to get atleast seven hours of sleep. From lunch time on I drink nothing with caffiene in it.On the way to the match I listen to the radio and try to forget about my day at work. When I get to the match I say Hello to everyone and get on the firing line as soon as possible. I do this so I don,t get into any thought provoking conversations with anyone that would be a distraction. Most weeks it works, sometimes you just have a bad week. Keep practicing it'll come around.
i really shouldn't whine about it i guess. its supposed to be fun, right? what happens to me though is i tend to get obsessive about anything i pursue and become competative about it. even if only with myself. so, i shoot a great couple of groups one day and say, aha. i've got it!. from now on i will shoot great groups. then the next time i can't hit the broad side of barn.
I,ll be in the backyard some times practicing and I just can,t hit anything. Those are the days you just lay the gun down and walk away or do some long range bench shooting. It,ll put a smile back on your face!
if you place an order for 17 tin cans every months and get a 10% discount out of $8.99 that would be 152.83 - (10%) 15.28 = 137.55
But if you buy a sleeve, you will save 15% against 10% because you are bying BULK at a special price, intead of 3 orders every moth you buy the same 3 in 1 month with a special savings.
warren
and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
$8.00 per tin delivered from DAK Sport inc. 45 tins per case, but if your rifle like ant H&N pellets those cost a bit less. I actually split a case at cost with a couple of people from our FT club as I really need to get some JSB Express for the 48/52 also.
Ok, I'll stop yelling now. I live in the suburbs and have nowhere to shoot outdoors near my home. I have several place to shoot about 1-1.5hours from my place. Between work and a 4.5 month old baby there is not much time to spare.
Other than that I am relegated to the garage range that is only 6 yards, guess that is better than nothing.
I try to shoot a little bit each day. I always have a low power gun on the workbench. The Marksman 2004, Slavia 622 & 631, Crosman 2200, 1377, 130, AIR 17,6300, Gamo Airshot, QB78/79, tau 200 and Beeman P1, are a few of my indoor favorites.
I also enjoy working on my guns, mostly springers and Crosman Co2 stuff.
I'd like to move, though it is not in the cards right now. Someday I would like to move out to the country.
What used to be country ten or fifteen years ago is subdivision around here.
From the hours I've logged viewing this and other forums, I would say I don't shoot enough. Think it calls for a bit of an hiatus. Happy Holidays, all ya'all!
