for backyard shooting anyway or anywhere near a residential area. A regular Condor sounds no less than a .22LR rimfire rifle. A power-tuned Condor sounds louder than a rimmie! The Talon with 18" barrel is also very loud.
This is why I purchased the .22 Condor with a very good shroud (from Airhog) from its previous owner. It is mouse-fart quiet. It is amazing how well these shrouds can suppress the sound. Only when I 'm shooting 16gr JSB Predators at 1,100fps and above, it starts getting louder (or when pellets go supersonic) and you hear a small crack but the report is still less than my 850 .22! Shooting pellets at 1,000-1,100fps, the gun sounds like stock Crosman 2240 pistol and even less quiet. At 1,000fps and below, the gun is VERY quiet and you mostly hear a "tink" when the hammer hits the valve. So I mostly use the .22 Condor with the power setting (power wheel) all the way down and only fill to 2,500psi. This way Kodiaks start at around 1,000fps MV (or 47fpe) and 50 shots later when they 're down to around low-mid 800's, I refill. The shots are ver consistent this way and only get a 3-4fps drop with each shot. Sometimes I get 60-70 shots but when the velocity gets below 800fps, the POI drops noticeably (at 35yds) so I prefer to refill after 50 shots. If I move the PW to say setting 5 or 6 or higher, I get less shots and the Kodiaks go nearly supersonic and accuracy is comprimised a little. They shoot best from 1050 on down. I sometimes use 32gr Eley slugs (look just like .22LR bullets) which are also very accurate but cost a lot $.
The .25 is also very loud. Only shot it once and my ears were ringing for a few minutes. I won't be using it until I get a custom shroud for it.
I 'm surprised MZ got a PCP!

but I think everyone should experiment with different types of airguns or a PCP at least once..
