Ihad a new scope mount base for RWS with the lip on the front, that goes over the front of the RWS scope rail, but when mounted, it made the scope too high for me to get a proper cheek position on the stock comb. So I took it off. Recently I got an HW97k rifle with a high comb, got to looking, and I just turned the RWS mount around backwards and let the lip hang off the back of the receiver tube instead, and it worked perfectly. 500 shots and no movement yet, good groups with a Leapers scope. Saved me having to buy another base.
That's probably not working as good as you might think. The RWS mount has droop compensation and now you have reverse compensation. You could shim the rear ring with a piece of thin plastic or get low profile rings and put the mount back on the RWS gun. If you do elect to get low profile rings, there are some B-Square ones that work a lot better than the Leapers Weaver style.
