After I cleaned my 20T01 I noticed the wood was not matching the tube very well. So after I had put it together and found my accuracy again I thought I would try to put some paper inside the stock to give a even , more even pressure on the tube,I foud that the point of impact change about 1/2 inch, The accuracy didnot change . As there is no change to tyhe barrel itself as the wood doesn touch the barrel I cant figure out what changes the sighting of my scope. Could I have changed some vibrations that are sent to the barrel from the tube . Does any one experince this change, I guess its not bad because I dont see any change in the accuracy. I shoot targets at 10 yards,Just something to get us scating are heads I suppose John

Action bedding

That can affect how a gun shoots as well as bedding (or free floating) a barrel. Springers have a lot of vibration patterns. Put a shim under the action and you set up new, change old ones. Since you are getting good accuracy, I would not, personally, mess with it any more than you have. Better to search (when it is working, again) on Hector's threads about screw tightness. I believe there is more to gain in tuning those than in bedding most springers.

Bedding

Hello

I certainly can tell you about screw tightness on center fire rifles alsorts of strange things can happen just by tightening a little to much or letting them a little loose I used a dime to tighten screws on my remington BDL just to keep from tighten ing too much . I find it interestring as I run up on different problems with this Hobby. I probably wont go back to center fire as my shooting gravel pit is out of bounds for me and the range is about 15 miles away Thanks for your help John
