Any one else have one of these nice little plinkers? Just added one of these to my growing Diana collection. Shot a few over the chrony and it s doing 610 with JSB Exacts. Later I'm going to try some JSB Express and see how they do. This week I'm going to order a scope for it and maybe a spring and seal from Maccari. But firs impressions are its a sweet little gun.

I've got one

Mine is a newer one and only a couple of years old. See my post further below for a pic. It averages 687 fps with 8.4 gr Exacts. The newer ones use a different main tube (larger diameter) than the earlier ones. The newer ones use the same seal as the Models 34, 36, 38 etc. The older ones use a smaller seal. Maccari has both so check your gun to see which one you need. They are real nice, docile guns. I like it much better than the HW30S I used to have. The Diana just fits me better and easily matches the HW30S in accuracy and firing behaviour, while at the same time providing more power. Can't beat that.

I was going to buy that gun from Stephanie but you beat me to it!! hehe Actually it wasn't sold and I saw it very soon after she posted it, but I hesitated. Then I think the next day it was, I was going to ask her if the gun could do >600fps that I would take it, but you had grabbed it already. I have seen people post about their 26 in the high 500's so I didn't want a "weak one". You know me.. hehe I have a lot of sparrows and Starlings here lately so that would 've been a good bird/pest gun, although the 850 .22 has been doing just great with the feathered pests.

Good luck with it! I heard it went to get some work done before it was finally shipped to you? What did you have done? Trigger work? I know you do most of the debur/hone and lube yourself so I 'm just guessing it had to be some trigger work from process of elimination. Our airgun community is a small world you know.. wink.gif I could tell you what you had for breakfast, hehehe

Hey Harry

February 15 2009, 3:49 PM

Its a sweet little plinker. I was going to send out the trigger out to JohninPA. BUT Today I took it apart my self cleaned it up re lubed and got it back together with no problem so I don't think its going out to him. Next I'm going to work on my 46 T01 trigger ,after doing my first I think the second will come out better ,then on to the T05 in my 350 .22.
I sent maccari an e-mail to ask him what spring I can use for a 26, its an older model so it has a smaller tube diamiter , he lists a seal but I don't know which spring is best because its kind of small.
I'm going to do something for ya,if you really want this 26 ,here is what I can do Ill trade it to ya for your 36 Hehe What do you say . I know you will never part with it, But if you do ,let me know Ill be at your house in an hour or an hour and a half.

You know the answer

to that one Phil! You 're absolutely right.. I 'll hold on to this 36 beauty for a looong time happy.gif If it weren't as accurate or well-tuned, you would have had it a long time ago. I know it's not easy to come by one of Gene Curtis' personal guns that was CDT turbo-tuned with the "works".

Hard to believe this 14ft-lb gun took out so many G-hogs last summer with surgical precision (in the absense of the 350).
It's a keeper for sure, and no I 'm not giving you my street address. Next thing I know, there will be a "vacancy" in my gun cabinet when I get home one night! happy.gif
Gee, who could have wanted the Diana 36 only, and left behind the 7mm Mag, 30-06, .243, 30-30's, shotguns and $3K worth of tuned & scoped AF Condors? hehe

Now I have an excuse to get a gun vault! happy.gif
