The barrel I believe is pressed into the receiver and it would be very hard to change, but if you want to keep the weapon but change the caliber, you could contact someone like Rich in Mich to do it.....If I were you, I'd go for .25 ..
One would think it is a tollerence fit but ? Who's got the skinny?
Otherwise as far as changing a 52 to .25 the one on the borrm was changed from .22 to .25 and chopped & shrouded by Rich.

Sell the .177 and use the money to buy a .22, ????
Sorry, just being a smart a**. Don't know if you can change the caliber for much less than the cost of buying a used gun.
Is there some reason you don't like the .177 cal?
