Although I am not into FT looks I can appreciate the craftsmanship that went into that. Is it ASH or Butternut. The picture does not give it away !

It is Old Grwoth Ash,

March 1 2009, 2:48 PM

And I should say I am not the craftsman , the Ash is a good bit more dense than Butternut (which is a nice wood). It seems not to many people are making aftermarket 48/52 stocks which is a little odd as they really are nice airguns.
This will be my first year shooting Piston class FT.

sure (and a few more pictures)

Hector, my friend Brian makes them, a true craftsman who isnt in the stock making bussiness but has made a few stocks for people. If you emailed me I could point you towards posts on other forums of stocks he has made. He really makes them exactly as the shooter requires. Come on down to the GOB club or the Widder Stephens club there is more than one of his stocks there.
The wood still doesnt have the final finish yet but it seems to be looking very nice.

Thanks, John!

Thing is I need a "partner". Someone that can make the stock I want for the D-54 FT model I will start making.

If I cannot get someone in the US to make those stocks, I'll probably have to go to Europe for them.

Yes, I would appreciate his contact information, if he wants to.

Thanks again!

Beautiful stock

John,

That is super nice looking stock. While I would have picked another wood like nice walnut or even curly maple, I can see that the maker has done an excellent job with it and anybody would be proud to own one.
