using peep sights as always. condition were overcast so target kill zones were very hard to see on some targets. i shot a 30% and so now i will shoot with
scope going forward. the course was set up a little harder than last time. still, i am making progress. i shot my 52 as usual but took my 46 to do some shooting afterwords. not totally happy with the accuracy yet. something was goingt on with the gun. felt harsh. i will break into it tonight and look at the piston seal. there seemed to be a velocity variation and a change in report from shot to shot. i will do a tissue test as well.

i compared the seal with the old stock seal that i gook out. the stock seal was about .010 larger. i must have undersized the large apex seal. i put a new one in and the gun sounds better. will see when i can shoot some targets.

Nice shooting. More airgunners need to give FT a try, the comrodery alone is worth a long drive, access to airguns, knowledge ....... . Very worthwhile and fun. I plan on using a custom 48/52 w/Hawke SR12 this season having used pcp's the last two years.
So if you shoot that well with peep sights just what scope do you have your eye on?

Larry, I noticed also that the last batch of Large Apex seals I got are not as large a outer diameter as the stock Diana seals.I switched over to the Telsa seal from JM but that will require sizing.

a HAWKE 6-18-44 SR 12. very nice scope with bright optics.

john, the second apex seal that i installed yesterday was larger. as large as stock. will see how it works out and if it is not right i will try a tesla.
there may be other things. even though it passes the tissue test having two breach seals is always going to have a higher potential for failure.
