this is just an idea I have been debating for a while
I have had my FILL with, muzzle breaks, mounts, scopes, pellets, springs, etc.., etc.. and more etc..
also had different tunes to same air guns for velocity and accuracy but am now interested in the wood stock
granted the wood stock does not add to the velocity or accuracy department but to the hold and value of the air gun
the choice of wood is Walnut in a high quality air gun, you could go with a more exotic wood and pay more but lets start with Walnut for a wood stock
the price would be critical since you would not spend more on a $150.00 air gun to get a $200.00 Walnut wood stock
lets take the M34 or the M48 and replace the wood stock, what would be those characteristics you would look in a wood stock, Tyrolean cheek carved, hand groove cut between thumb and shooting finger, thumb stock hole?
I am asking because I have the wood craftsman to do this and prices for the wood and his work approximately are:
1st. the wood stock would be laminated, 3 layers is a whole lot cheaper than a blank piece of walnut for about $60.00
2nd. the work would cost anywhere between $100.00 and $125.00 depending on your preferences
3rd. this does not include shipping
4th. no checkering involved since this would drive the price sky high, you could do this latter
bottom line is $150.00 to $200.00 worth a custom Walnut stock for a 34 and the 48
disclaimer: I make no profit with this idea, I pay what you pay

PS: what do you think?
and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
For that cost I would be interested and I can and have made stocks. Lameinated with out micro laminations can have drasticly different colors. Solid blanks can be had cheap. tell Howie to call me.
Bring it in at/under $200.00 and I personally think they would sell. I have seen a Walnut (TX200) stock made from slabes that was out standing, the grain was so well matched you just couldnt tell it was three peices. Getting the grain to match at all may be a bear and some folks wont want both sides totally different. To me the inletting on a 48 looks like it wont be any fun at all to mess with, but I dont know exactly how these things are done, on the 34 it seems the action is rather long but again it's all a mystery to me how they are made while maintaining strength. And remember factory stock dont (normallly) break during years of use and people expect that sp strength is very important.
"2nd. the work would cost anywhere between $100.00 and $125.00 depending on your preferences " thats cheap! So, if it can be done for that how about folks who want say a Royal Laminate (rutply) stock supply there own material and just pay labor & shipping?
Get one and post pictures I am sure some people are just dying to have one.
It seems next to imposssible to get a custom 48/52 stock (we happen to have one coming but I dont think he plans on making too many more for them, LOL, and darn sure not out of HARDwood). I know some people want them so I say go for it.
a wood craftman I was mistaken, should say ONE of a kind wood craftman
the grain he can get is perfect all 3 slabs will match in color, that is not a problem
the 1st 34 I had split the wood stock because I did not check the screws, they where loose it has been reworked by this person and with marine epoxy you cannot see the fix in the wood
he sanded down some beech wood and used those shavings with the epoxy to seal the crack, the stain adheres to the wood bits not not to the glue

Track of the Wolf is a great muzzle loading supply company. I believe a Hawken style blank might work as they have a fair bit of wood and are the right length for break barrels.
Howie is a TRUE CRAFTSMAN INDEED!!!! That is a pic of my Lil QB 88,,,, custom stock by Howie!! You "Howie" sir,,, are a truly gifted wood worker,,, & a 100% Gentleman!! Thank you Warren for buying me that gun & shipping it to me!! I still owe Ya Buddy!! ,,,,,,,, Old Tim.
