you can set up a pay pal account and you can invoice someone who does not have a pay pal account and they can pay you with a debit or credit card. i have sold some fishing gear that way. once the money is in your pay pal account
you ship the item. the biggest worry is shipping i think.
i am willing to eat the pay pal fees because i like the convenience and security. i guess there can be disputes. i wait until the person achnowleges
having received the item and has accepted it before i take those funds. i think a 3 day inspection is reasonable. if there is a problem then the person can ship the item back at his expense and when i receive it i can reverse the transaction and refund his money. for me it is understand that return shipping is the buyers cost and the itme has to be the same as received with no added damage. some honor is involved here.
i think it is important that all parties always act in good faith. i guess that goes without saying. unfortunately there are folks who play games and have no ethics. i have heard horror stories from ebay transactions. so far i have not sold on ebay, only purchased and i have never had a bad deal. all of my fishing gear transactions have been on interent boards where i have an idea of who i am selling to. so far it has worked well.
i am a little nurvouse about selling and shipping guns but am will to go with those i know.
I take postal money orders and ship when received. One thing about PayPal is, should they find out you are selling a gun (any kind of gun), they can freeze the funds and then you or the buyer are out.
you identify the item as "goods". it does not aks what kind of goods. of course if there is a dispute that could get sticky. on the other hand
JM and straight shooters takes pay pal. i think its "don't ask, don't tell".
of some posts over on the Yellow where the participants got into a bollox with PayPal. If someone wants to use it, fine, but the do need to know there is the possibility of PayPal balking should the G word come up in conversation.
