Warren, no offense but I sure wish I had as much time on my hands as you do (pennies@fps). As Larry suggested to me on a earlier, it is a nice day, go out and enjoy it and do some shooting. I plan on doing just that. Hope you have a nice day!
Dave
Ps I will be shooting two Vintage guns today, R7 and HW 30. The best quality, most accurate air rifles I have personally ever shot or seen. The 34 will stay home. I also will be shooting my Baikal 46m, a gun that in accuracy, is hard to beat.
shoot your old vintage air guns the R7 and HW30 in the meantime I will shoot my 34's and I mean all of my 34's
I work 6 days a week, time is something I DO not have to spare, besides taking care of the house, yard work, cooking, etc. time is scarce for me but when I have the time I either shoot my 34's or post in this forum or talk to my friends on the phone
ever called you???

Dear Topic starter and Diana fan: for me the Air Arms is the best air gun because the have a superb continue quality, people who're employed at AA know their product and are real "entrepreneurs". Absolutely second is the Diana because this brand is the oldest air rifle manufacturer who makes spring powered solid air rifles. Beste regards from Johannis. ( P.S. you told me that the "power plant" of the Stutzen is actually a 34 action
I really can not say which is best. But my Go-To gun is always my 48/52 in .22 caliber.Of course its not a stocker by any means with JM internals and tune. And a trigger to die for.
I started a week ago shooting match pistol(Sportsman Class).I chose my Diana P5 Magnum over all the other pistols I own.I'm not sure how many but well over 10.
She's just a dead nuts accurate shooting machine. It also has been tuned more than once. And also a lot of work has gone into the trigger to make it a smooth easy shooter.I tuned it once for power, adding a maccari spring, thrust washers and buttons, after I got my kicks with the power fad I detuned it as to make is a easy to cock, easy recoil bulls eye blaster.
But my honest to goodness fun to shoot easy to operate #1 gun's are my Benjamin Discovery's in .22 and .177. The .22 with power adjuster and LDC can be either a power house or a mild mannered 60 shot open the bolt load and shoot rifle.
With the small Benjamin bottle I can shoot all day and never worry about the pump.

Air Guns Create Questions????
Together we can write the answers!!
Jan, it is very interesting to hear you say the TX is the best, knowing how much you love your 48. The TX is a gun I hope to have some day and it will be in 177.cal. I wish I had bought that gun over the 460.
Bob, I should be having more time off and will start shooting my Baikal 46m a lot more often. Maybe I will get good enough to shoot against you some day. Since the Diana is a springer, I wonder what guns you have been competing with? I have shot in NRA rifle matches with a 22.cal rimfire, but never seen a air gun pistol match except on the Olympics.
I would love to see some pics of your shooting matches some day!

Warren I cant disagree with you about the 34 as I have had a 34s for over 15 years and is still a keeper.
Over the years a lot of guns have come and gone but some stay, my tuned HW80.22 my desert Island gun, my TX200hc .177 v-mach tuned so accurate, and my new toy the 460 another keeper, and my vintage is a self customized old type RWS 45.22
but I think that I would like one or two more to complete my collection.
Barry.
I think I will go ahead and shoot my R7 and HW 30 this pm. And while I am at it I will shoot another favorite, one of my Beeman c1's (Webley Scott). These little carbines are a lot of fun! Might even let my HW 70a tag along. I guess I have too many favorites. Sort of like asking a mother which of her children is her favorite.
My HW80K/.22 hands down.Record trigger no turning required and one hole groups with full power.Oh yes and a properly designed scope base........$500 Canadian...................... priceless
my favorite is my HW97K .20 with Leapers scope. Super accurate, out to 50 yards. Second would be my RWS 350 .177 or my .22 Patriot. I had a 34, solid gun, never got close to 720 fps, more like 650 with 14.3 gr ammo.
When I want to shoot for fun and I need a quick fix. I reach for my Baikal Model 60 with steel breech or my Model 61. Anybody that has ever shot one of these guns now how fun they are. Also when the weather get's warmer out will come my RWS850.
I have never owned a Ben, but would bet this is the most popular air rifle ever sold. Makes the 274k number of the 34's just pocket change. When ever I place a ad in the local newspaper for old pellet guns, people with Ben's start calling like crazy. How many people have you ever mentioned a pellet gun to and even if they are not into the hobby will mention the "pump up" Ben?
Beeman C1, Now that a great gun!! You do not see many around any more. I picked up one on ad I had in the local newspaper. A junk dealer called me and said he had a pellet gun for sale. It was a C1. I paid $50 bucks for it, bought a JM kit and got a MZ tune! A few months ago, I was at a local gun dealer, who only carries a few air guns, Mostly Benjamin 372's and a few of the cheap Beeman china guns. ON the shelf was what looked like a Brand New C1. I dismissed it, since I new they had discontinued the gun years ago and said to myself "no Way can that be a C1". I started to drive home, I got to thinking about it, turned the car around and went back into the store. Sure enough it was a BRAND NEW C1! The owner said he found it in the warehouse, and had no idea what it was.
Not to complain, but it was not a 22.cal which is really a treasure. I now have two both in 177.cal and that is plenty of luck!
As Dr. Beeman said"
"So, what airguns do you recommend now, Dr. Beeman?"
Now that we have no ties or obligations to Beeman Precision Airguns, people keep asking me that question! So, to save us both some trouble (we can't carry on a chat line with shooters - we are just too busy writing books, etc)., here are my "unbiased" comments:
All of the German and English made airguns sold by Beeman are very good, but the crown jewel of their sporting rifles STILL is the Beeman R1 in .20 or .25 caliber, preferably both! For sporting/hunting air rifles, two of my personal favorites always have been the handy, little Beeman R7 and the Beeman C1, both of which seem to have an almost cult following among those who really know airguns.
The one I remember the most fun with was my new Crosman V300 M1 Carbine. I dropped more feathers with one shot than I could ever count with that baby, way back when I was 12-13. The Croswood stock broke behind the grip from just a little use and I then had a pistol grip model and kept pluggin away till someone that admired it also felt they deserved it more than me and she took a walk, never to be seen by these eyes again. and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
