Changing mainspring of a rws 36/38

Hi,I am searching for a Howto to change the mainspring of a Diana 36/38 (with photos)
Can anybody help me?

I'm pretty sure those models are mechanically the same as the 34. Here's a good illustrated guide.

Using your son and a 2x4 might not be the best idea

A spring compressor is a much better choice for safety sake. A slip where the son is shown in the picture could lose an eye. Spring compressors can be purchased or made; there are a number of designs posted on the Internet.

The 2x4 method is NOT preferred. Get or make a spring compressor. Mainly I posted the links to show how/where the mainspring goes.

Casey, your photos and info were very informative. However, I would advise to perform due diligence on any forums that they you may have posted this method and issue a severe warning against performing a spring tune in this manner.Surely someone will attempt this, and the results could be fatal. I have seen it posted elsewhere. I have no intentions of admonishing you, but for safety sake it must be done.
