Do Recoil Pads make Air Rifles seem to Recoil more?

My 300r is outfitted with a recoil pad the same as the 460. The gun itself is basically 46 technology. It now has a maccari spring and APEX seal as well as the heavy tar and moly in it. It shoots smoother than it ever did, but that is still not 46 smooth. I'm thinking that it probably does shoot as smooth as a 46, but the recoil pad is allowing the movement in the stock (as felt by the left hand) that otherwise would be absorbed by the shoulder and not really felt as much recoil even in a loose hold. I'm not too firm on this theory, just wanted to know what others thought.

I would doubt it

If anything, it would tend to damped recoil a bit. You clothing and shoulder tissues are doing the same thing the recoil pad does.
