Who says you have to pay big bucks for a good Air gun! I recently wanted to see for myself how well the China guns are really like. No sense knocking them unless you step up to the plate and get one. So I said what the hell and sent away for a QB57. Dang it, I have to say it, this is a very impressive gun. I mean this is a very accurate little shooter! I mean very accurate! I have been holding out posting on this Chinese compact little "side" springer. Each time I shoot it, I think well maybe these bulls eye's I have been shooting are just luck. each time I pick up this gun and shoot it I like it a little better. Today it was hot! Coming home from work I found a small square piece of paper below my upstairs window. What the heck, I placed it in the bushes thinking I will try out one of my guns. About 15 yards out. Well this little springer was there waiting for me. I opened the window took aim with my old original RWS scope that came with my 34. Bingo Right smack in the damn middle. Ok, I tried again and Bingo! Now my interest was up. I zeroed in on a maple leave, the center vain of the leaf. (Bear in mind it is a windy day) Bingo! Right smack in the center of the leaf vain. This is a very fine gun for the money. Compact and can break down for easy carry! PLUS BONUS! I was able to get a second barrel in 22.cal for $35 bucks! Bonus, it even came with it's own carrying case! No more knocking the Chinese from me! By the way, it shoots about 650 fps in 177. I will try the 22.cal later this weekend!

Yup, I got one too, and its a fun little shooter!

My airgun collection is pretty limited. I have a Model 48 in .22, a B3-1 in .177 and the QB57 in .177.

For game, the 48 is the go to gun.
I use the B3 in the backyard.
and the QB57 is my goto gun for when I go out to the BSA camp, or camping, or the occasional hike up the hills, or car camping. Basically, anywhere that I dont want to take my 48 to ding it up.

I have a simple 4x32 Leapers on mine and it shoots great!

the only thing I would say..is that I ended up Epoxying the scope mount and its screws to the wooden forearm..because the little wooden screws kept coming loose...

Its no RWS, and my 48 is still my cherished and favorite airgun, but the little QB has opened up a place for itself in my heart happy.gif

Starting to like this gun

June 28 2009, 5:24 AM

I saw this pic on the net. I really like the way it did the stock. I'am also going to take off the front sight. At the price of this gun, I originally had no intention of getting a tune. Now, I am going to get my friend MZ to do his thing on the gun. This gun is awesome in the fact that you can change the barrel so easy from 177. to 22. and be so handy and easy to carry. The scope fits nicely on the gun.

So many Mods for this springer

June 28 2009, 6:46 AM

I thought I would share this mod with you guys. Here he made the gun much lighter and then did a camo wrap. Looks great!

Now this is a springer that can go up to a realistic 700 fps and be very accurate to boot. Might make a better choice than a RWS Pistol if you prefer something more suitable hunting of small game.

Sometimes nothing can be a real cool hand!

June 29 2009, 9:54 AM

Sometimes NOTHING can be a real COOL HAND!( Cool Hand Luke) Tim, the more I get into Air Guns the less snobby I seem to get. What seems to inspire me, are guys like you that can take a inexpensive gun and turn it into something really appreciative. I have come to the realization that some guy with a crosman quest can have as much fun as a guy with a Top of line Diana, or Beeman. The Ruger Air Hawk sure has generated a lot of enthusiasm on the Yellow. I love to see a good value, and watch that value increase at the hands of American Ingenuity. (only wish I had the skill).I have no doubt that your Ruger will be top of the line when done and the satisfaction that you were part of the process can only be more rewarding!

Great JOB Tim or shall I say "COOL HAND TIMMY"
