Just making sure! Will a T01 fit in a 350 that has a T05 now, I have a 34 that has a T01 that is to die for and I would love to swap it on my 350. Will it be a drop in.?

Trigger Swap

Chris,

My impression from seeing your You Tube video is you are an extreme power guy. I believe the situation with the T01 swap is opposite of what you would want: the T01 will engage before the T05 would have, resulting in a less powerful shot (i.e. spring not compressed as much).

Interesting! as the 34 its on is a powerhouse doing 970 to 980 with 7.9. I just love the feel. I may sacrifice a few FPS if need be as I have a few to spare >>>>>LOL

Chris, I know what you mean about the the TO1, but I have fitted a TO1 to my 460 and although it felt really nice the bear trap would not engage because the stroke was shorter.
But it would be easy for you on a 350 to change for a TO1 piston, I'm not sure but were the first 350s TO1?
Barry.

Early 350's did have the

T01 trigger group. In a Diana parts manual from 11-20-2000 they list two different piston #, but just the T01 trigger group. I 'm sure the T05 trigger was in the works.

Would the TO1 piston still be available? I have looked on Chambers site and the piston is special order and I was thinking that there was only TO5s left if ordered.
Chris If you give the TO5 piston a try with the TO1, and it wont take long, but remember that the piston rod is longer so be careful, but it didnt do my TO1 any harm as I am still using it in my 34 after refitting it from my 460.
I think that you would lose 50 fps but only a guess, please let me know if you try and it works ok.
Barry.

It works ! However . It does lock up much further ahead in the piston stroke. Its SWEET but I lost some FPS . I cant tell as its cloudy and hard to chrony. Ill report back what I lost. Im on the look out for a T01 350 piston. Any one have one ?

OK ! Here is the skinny. The T01 350 was made only for 2 years according to Umarex. I am not sure on that or trust them. However. The T01 and the T05 have different piston rod lengths. The T01 has a shorter stub by about 3/8 inch. How I found this out was when I put the T05 in I was down about 75 fps. The piston latched up 3/8 early. It was sweet but this is a MAGNUM. I decided to do some detective work and finally tune my 34 . It was time as it hasn't been opened up since 2007. It is a T05. I pulled the T01 34 apart also. My goal was to swap the T01 internals into my T05 34 and use the T01 piston and trigger in my newer gun. I then would take my outstanding T05 trigger from my newer 34 and put it back into my 350 to bring it back up to power. It was a lot of work having 3 guns striped and put back together. I ended up with a sweet 350 that lost NO power with a 1.5 lb pull and a tuned 34 that is doing 975 with 7.9 Crosman Hunters. The funny thing is the older T01 gun had a hot spring it seemed so I used that in my newer 34. I also used the factory seal as It was still in great shape. (I love RWS seals). I am looking into see what spring it is. Its not factory 34 that I can tell you. Its not near Diana 34 dimensions . It actually fit the guide like a tuned guide REAL tight. From what I can tell by its measurements its not a off the shelf Macarri. 35 coils .123 wire .790 OD.

Here are some pics of the pistons

That was the sad spring in my 34 . You think it was time..........LOL

34 spring

July 15 2009, 12:47 PM

Chris:

the JM M34 spring is .790 OD, 33 coils and .128 wire

the 94 (Cometa) is .670 OD, 39 coils and .90 wire

you have an odd ball spring (35 coils .123 wire .790 OD.) but what the heck IT WORKS

warren

and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
