Well As you know I have tuned a few super Magnum class guns. Now I am gonna try and tune the 350 first and then the 34 to maximum smooth-ness bench rifles. I am trying to get under a lb with the T01 triggers and so smooth a shot cycle that its dead still.(Ill try the pellet test on the scope) I Have many Big hunting guns but no real play guns and these are both under used now for hunting as I dont want to beat the stocks up. I will post results and details as I go. I will be using new equipment in these guns . Some of it has never been used in a Diana. Some will be retrofitted. The goal is a solid bench gun that is so beautiful to look at and you just do not want to put it down.

try this formula...

Plenty of weight, it will be a bench gun anyway, and a snug spring that just about gets the job done to send 177 pellets at around 750fps.
Close tolerance on all moving parts. That will be crucial.

No more and no less.

Lost me there

You want to develop a BENCH gun from a 34 or a 350, ¿WHY?

They do not seem the ideal starting points to me. JMHO.

If I really wanted a bench gun, I would start with 54.

Tune it down to 12 ft-lbs or less (depending on the range of BR you are thinking about) and get it going from there.

Again, JMHO.

Un Abrazo!

Keep us posted on the de-tuning methods

My Diana 34 feels much less 'twangy' after a tune kit and seal but she's still got a fair amount of jump in her. Let us know what you do to quiet that down. I assume some weight and a less powerful spring?

Thanks,

Casey

hint, hint

Chris called me and we talked for about 30 minutes about this experiment, all I can say it is a single cock brake barrel shooting 34 foot pounds in .22 cal, RWS Super H, 14.2 gr. pellet at over 1,000 fps

YES, I repeat 34 F/P in a brake barrel not 20 or 25 F/P

YES, over 1,000 fps in .22, in reality a little more than 1,000 FPS

YES, accurate with a special barrel (LW)

Chris got a B-28 shooting 900+ FPS in .22 cal consistently and that is not an experimental air rifle he made it a real B28 shooting machine

he now chases the 1,000 fps mark in a brake barrel in .22 cal and has done it but I will not steal his thunder he will eventually post some more info

warren

PS: Chris gave us the metal trigger for the Diana's, this one I am writing and working on a one of a kind tune for a RWS 350 also in .22 cal and by special I mean SPECIAL

and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
