Hi fellows as i said in other post in this forum a was trying to install a Theoben gas ram in my Diana 50T01 a friend of mine tha has a machine shop remove the spring guide that run inside the piston for me, that guide is just that a spring guide and has nothing to do with the trigger as in other Dianas (the famous 3 ball sear) the Diana original 45 also has the same powerplant and trigger, in this model the trigger engages in the piston wall like the gamos,BSA, Webleys, this is not the actual 45 ( a 34 with another stock).I use the theoben for the gamo Shadow the instalation is for the instrutions that comes with the strut just need to grind a little the strut guide (marked with a circle in the photo)to fit the cylinder base where the safety is

now the rifle is more smooth to shoot but harder to cock

next will be the testing i let all you know the results in a near future till then

CARLOS

Diana rama

Please keep us informed on how this works out.
The short cocking arm looks like it would be stiff.
Is this a 12 ftlb rifle or more?
Very nice work.==-

Philip i think the power of the gas ram is rated at 24 jules that is the spanish legal limit i think in Spain they donīt have FAC like the British

Aside i forgot in my explanation that i have to grind the front of the safety to fit the gas ram due to that no more automatic safety just manual safety, the gold law of mechanics Ļto gain something you have to give somethingĻ

and give us more info

Carlos;

as I understand the Model 50 is a close brother of the 45 but they don't make them anymore and the 50 and 45 are TO1 that makes them equal

but which GAS Ram did you use?? just for those that have the M50 or the M45

warren

PS: thanks for your information in the web for ALL of US

Re: and give us more info

Warren the 50T01 and the 45 Original are basic the same rifle, the 50T01 is a fixed barrel tap loader and the 45 Original is a Break barrel thatīs the diference, the 45T01 is a total diferent rifle it is a 34 with a diferent stock

i think the gas ram i use is the theoben for the gamo Shadow at last the friend that give it to me tell me that this was for that model

got it

September 5 2009, 3:50 PM

Carlos:

the M50 is a fix barrel and the M45 is a break barrel and the gas ram will only work for the M50??? am I correct!!

but if they have the same internals, then they should work meaning the M50 and the M45, just because one is fixed and another break barrel means the same if and IF the piston is the same.

warren

PS: your help is appreciated

Warren the mod works for both the 50T01 and the 45 ORIGINAL and i think in any Diana that do not have the 3 ball sear, to my knowlege some old Dianas made in england have a trigger system diferent to the 3 ball sear i have one 27 smoothbore .177 made in england in 1964 that havenīt the 3 ball sear but a donīt think that it works due to the dimensions of the cylinder because you need a long stroke cylinder

Your 27 is a Milbro

September 5 2009, 6:08 PM

They got the right to produce Diana's as a WWII reparation, while Diana could only sell theirs as "Orignals". Milbro of Scotland took the early 27 design and eventually modified it along the way. Your's no doubt has the different trigger due to these changes. I have a circa 1967 MIlbro G46 which is a direct descendant of the 27. It even has a lever safety.
