I hope you are not losing any sleep over these things buddy, hehe. No get away from the computer and go do some shooting! I 'm going.. Or maybe you are taking a break because your arm hurts from cocking the Springers? Just kidding!
When that happens to me, I just switch to PCP's and keep on shooting

Warren, you gotta quit using words like expecting, spending, and buying. Reality is gonna happen, but that won't stop people from expecting, spending, and buying.
I don't know Warren I have a Bam 21 comming from MM and it's supposed to be a clone of the RWS 48 will see just how close it is maybe it will be great, We'll have to check it out against your RWS 48 .LOL howie
my Gamo Big Cat can keep up with my TX200 from the bench?
Okay so I took a $99 rifle, put on a $32 GTXIII trigger, installed a JM E3650 and Apex seal ($30) and a 8-24x50 Tasco. So $99 rifle turned into a $220 rifle!
Now I can't shoot quite as well off the bench because the BC is about a 6.5 lb rifle as it sits and LOP is about 13.5" but it is still a fun rifle.
And you know my story of the $99 Diana 34 with a $39 scope on it that shoots itself and brings me beer...
Not only will the pellet be faster, it will also maintain a constant velocity (no air resistance)until it finally hits another object or get caught up in the gravity well of a star or some other massive object. LOL
The old triple spring powerplant with magnetic rail accelerator- couldn't hold a sub-micron group at 10km, so I traded it. No proper scope rail, creepy trigger pull, but very powerful with the right pellet.
