1,000 fps out of a spring air rifle in .22 cal. with a .50" CTC at 40 yards

$200.00 air rifles shooting the same as a $800.00 one

.177, .20 cal reaching the same kinetic energy as the .22 ca;.

shooting FT with a 800 fps with a Gamo and beating the 450 fps HW ones

shooting CHEAP pellets and expecting them to be the same in accuracy as the good ones (more) expensive ones

spending $500.00 to improve a $200.00 air rifle

or; spending $150.00 on a scope for a $75.00 air rifle

shooting 100 yards with a spring power air rifle and expecting .50 CTC shot groups

and then: buying a air rifle that shoots out to 100 yards when you can only shoot 20 yards

I hope you are not losing any sleep over these things buddy, hehe. No get away from the computer and go do some shooting! I 'm going.. Or maybe you are taking a break because your arm hurts from cocking the Springers? Just kidding!
When that happens to me, I just switch to PCP's and keep on shooting happy.gif

Warren, you gotta quit using words like expecting, spending, and buying. Reality is gonna happen, but that won't stop people from expecting, spending, and buying.

just for you

September 12 2009, 1:05 PM

JC:

since you answered with :expecting, spending, and buying"

you might look at BUYING, and expecting

easy to expect, difficult to buy when you have NO $$$$

EX. I have a highly tuned M34 that shoots 900 fps with .25 gr. pellets for $25.00 including shippeng

or the real world; I have a tuned rws M34 with JM internals shooting 600 fps with 14.4 gr. pellets for $300.00

witch one would you buy???

warren

PS: NOTHING to add

Warren - would you believe...

September 12 2009, 5:02 PM

my Gamo Big Cat can keep up with my TX200 from the bench?

Okay so I took a $99 rifle, put on a $32 GTXIII trigger, installed a JM E3650 and Apex seal ($30) and a 8-24x50 Tasco. So $99 rifle turned into a $220 rifle!

Now I can't shoot quite as well off the bench because the BC is about a 6.5 lb rifle as it sits and LOP is about 13.5" but it is still a fun rifle.

And you know my story of the $99 Diana 34 with a $39 scope on it that shoots itself and brings me beer...

Oh - one more thing

September 12 2009, 5:08 PM

I still have a .177 B2 that when I shoot downhill does 550 fps (uphill only gets 450 fps).

Oh and when I shoot those 4.5 metric pellets I can get this baby up over 16,000 cm/s! Now that's smoken fast.

I know

September 13 2009, 12:23 AM

Andy:

without any reservation, I do believe you because Howie does the same thing

but this one is the icing on the cake:

"I still have a .177 B2 that when I shoot downhill does 550 fps (uphill only gets 450 fps)."

what do you think about this idea??

let's ask NASA to take that B2 into outer-space and shoot it!!! with NO gravity, I bet you the FPS would be even higher

LOL

Not only will the pellet be faster, it will also maintain a constant velocity (no air resistance)until it finally hits another object or get caught up in the gravity well of a star or some other massive object. LOL

It just occured to me...

September 13 2009, 2:34 AM

If the B2 is a spring piston airgun, it will not fire at all in outer space (no ambient air to compress). Now you got me correcting myself.happy.gif

Best Regards,
Sixto

Oh, that

September 13 2009, 8:53 AM

The old triple spring powerplant with magnetic rail accelerator- couldn't hold a sub-micron group at 10km, so I traded it. No proper scope rail, creepy trigger pull, but very powerful with the right pellet.
