What is the difference between the 34 and the 36? Is it just the stock, withthe action identical? Or are there other divverences?

Thanks

The action is the same but the 36 also has upgraded iron sights with a tunnel front sight which accepts various inserts.

It also has..

September 13 2009, 9:11 AM

a recoil/shoulder pad and checkering on better wood.

I love my 36! There don't seem to be too many around because of its cost compared to the 34. It was almost 50% more than a 34. I remember P/A still had some in late '06, even early '07 after they stopped making them, and they were going for $229-239, when the 34 could be had for $149-$169 at the time. I feel like own a rare gun, hehe.. but I 'm sure there have to be a couple of thousand of them out there.

Those are definitely nice. I just wish Diana would have made them with full length stocks to hide the big breech block. In my opinion, if they had done that, those rifles would have been perfect.

The new wood 34 stocks with forearm and grip checkering on Diana's new website are absolutely stunning!

Anybody have any idea when those rifles(as well as all the new Diana's) will be available?

This is the one...

September 13 2009, 10:08 AM

This is the one right here that i'm talking about. I want one of these, then sent off for a professional tune. Lightweight, low-recoiling, super smooth, tack driving accurate tune with trigger tune, upgraded metal trigger and fancy polished metal guard, a dream to own and shoot.....

Umarex could probably special order just about anything Diana makes. Thing is, it'd be expensive.

Are they already available but just not available in the U.S. for some reason?

I know someone posted weeks ago that Umarex wasn't going to offer the 56 TH but would special order for you if you wanted one. I assume Umarex would do this for other models as well.

it is still

September 13 2009, 11:34 AM

a M34 with a fancy wood stock, nothing more and nothing less

it will shoot like a 34, load up like one and just be the same

I would not spend the money on this Model, just get a 34 wood stock and re-carve it

warren

PS: just remember, this is just my stupid opinion

and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"

36 type sights for 34?

September 13 2009, 12:10 PM

OK then where can I get a front sight like that (with inserts) fo my 34?

And where can I get a good peep sight?

But--- I LIKE better wood, better stock, recoil pad, better sights, etc, eve if it is "just a 34." And I am not too good at "recarving stocks."

Geez Warren, hope theres not a parade in your neighborhood! It would probably rain!!

Give Umarex a call. I'm sure they can fix you up. Pyramydair lists one but I don't think it comes with inserts

September 13 2009, 12:22 PM

Yep, thanks for that I will give Umares a call. I saw those on PA, but was not sure if other inserts were available, or of they would also fot a 34-- I presume they would.

It's just a thought, but the sight from an HW might work. If that's the case, you can probably pick one up for $20-25 on the Yellow classified.

it is spring

September 13 2009, 12:54 PM

Fuller:

I live in Florida and it rains everyday, sometimes we have storms and some years' hurricanes

so many people move down here that the oxygen they breath turns into CO'2 really fast

don't worry about US down here south we have no WHITE water (snow) like you people up north

we also have the advantage of being at sea level, a 800 fps air rifle will shoot 800 from Jan to Dec all 365 days' or a CO2 also

come on down and buy a house here all you need is flood and hurricane insurance and a DAMM good AC for summer

a good peep sight does not exist, only the peep sight you consider GOOD for you

a good trigger still does not exist, people are still working on what they consider the BEST, up to their standards

warren

PS: nothing personal with you, just shooting targets' out there, you just happened to be there

I'll bet if Umarex shipped this model 34 "Premium" to the U.S., with this nicer, upgraded, full sized stock, with checkering, buttpad, these metal sites and everything at a reasonable price, it would put a hurtin' on Beeman's R9 sales.

I would get one in .22 caliber and have it tuned to a nice, smooth 725 fps. Would you guys go for one?

I don't know. I like my .22 Panther just fine. A laminate stock version would be nice though. Do these have the updated trigger group with the metal trigger? Or is it still the T05 plastic trigger?

Dunno, but I like the panther that you got too for hunting with because of the synthetic stock. They have a new panther with a shorter barrel with open sights though too on their website now.

First of all I am a Life Member of the USA, and a Life Member of the NRA (since a Loooong time ago!)

Dunno where you got the notion that I was a "Yankee"--

And I ain't got nothin against Yankees!!! Some of my best friends are "Northerners."

It is just my heritage you see. So I MUST speak up for it! Born in Alabama, and my my ancestors fought for the CSA.

And I have been a resident of Florida since 1959! I know all about heat, mosquitoes , hurricanes, and homeowners insurance!

And my FWB 300S has a DAMN fine set of sights on it. The trigger on the FWB and Anschutz are also great ones, and others DO exist.

I was just not familiar with what is now available for replacement sights on Dianas.

And not sniping at you either, you just happened to be stepping past the firing line.
