Invested a couple of hours yesterday doing a basic clean up on a previously owned airgun. I admit, I enjoy doing this. Seeing things for what they could be and not for what they are at this moment in time generates a spark of HOPE. I believe my first wife did that with me but we both quit two minutes before the miracle. LMAO!
Some mild cleaning fluids, tooth brush, tooth picks, cotton swabs, dental pick, steam iron (distilled water), cotton rags, Flitz Metal Polish, TR-3 Resin Glaze and Johnson Paste Wax.
With patience, all the small dings, dents and pressure marks came out of the walnut stock using a damp cotton cloth and steam iron (only use distilled water). Metal and bluing are in wonderful condition after carefully polishing with Flitz Polish.
Trigger assy. and sight assy. clean up
The rifle and I are the same age, wish I was as well maintained. LOL. What's the saying, "if I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself".
LMAO!
The two emails regarding highlighting the stamped lettering in white or gold leaf, I'll post that as soon as I have some free time to take photos of the steps.
