Courtesy of John in PA, my Diana 48 has a new lease on life. I purchased the gun some time ago and finally decided to get something done with it. Previously, the gun was inconsistent and twangy with a noticeable twist in the harsh recoil. Trigger pull was tough and shot strings were all over the place. I purchased the gun used and supposedly in "as new" condition. Yeah, right.
I just received the gun back today from John in PA. No time to do anything until after dark, therefor the only things accomplished were to remount the stock and scope and then take a couple of test shots. WOW, this does not even feel like the same gun. Trigger pull is very light and the shot cycle is very smooth and quiet. Audibly, is sounds something like a 9 iron hitting a golf ball. Not the swish, just the thunk. Now I know what you fellows have been talking about.
Tomorrow I will do some accuracy shooting.
This tune is a new combination that John has come up with for the 48's. I'm not sure what is in it, but I can say definitely that the shot cycle is vastly improved.
John tuned my 54 a couple of months ago. The gun I sent him was harsh, twangy and worst of all, horribly inconsistent...a purely frustrating airgun. The one I got back was silky smooth and as consistent as can be, an absolute pleasure to shoot. Now when I'm missing the mark I know it's me and not the gun. I have run at least a thousand rounds through her since the tune and she is even better now. As far as I'm concerned, John's the Man!
I might have to send my 48 to John as well. those who have been here a while know the struggles I have had trying to master this gun. Perhaps I can't master it in factory condition....
Great PR for John in PA.....Are you on the payroll? LOL! and just kidding!
check the BOI in any forum that has one and find out WHO John in PA is really, that's an indication
John has worked on my M48 more than 3 times and in one of these he assembled and disassembled it 3 times to test 3 different springs' and chrony each one of them for the same price
John will sometimes post here and give out SECRETS other tuners' don't do this, read his posts carefully
when I had my M460, NOBODY would take it to find out what was wrong unless I paid $200 to $300 and John fixed it for $75.00 plus shipping from my part
whenever I buy an air rifle (used or new) I pay to have it shipped to John first and he checks it and I pay him and the return shipping, that is the trust I have in John
maybe YOU have this same arrangement with another tuner and then you will understand ME
warren
PS: I don't get a discount from John for this post LOL
and remember "it's 30% the gun and 70% the shooter"
