Web Site Launch Marketing Strategy

Hi all

I'm launching a new website selling a multimedia CD in the next few weeks.

I've launched other websites and always found it frustrating waiting around for the search engines to index you etc.

Anyone recommend any ideas or experiences which means I can hit the ground running and hopefully generate sales in the first few days and not weeks
