Yes, you were banned last night, along with all 90,000+ unique visitors we get monthly on the board... no one could post as we put the board temporarily on archive to fix a nagging database problem... Sunday's are usually the best time to do this, so we took the opportunity during a regularly slow day to take care of a challenge that has been bugging us for some time... with the amount of posting and traffic we get (over 3.9 million page views last month) little problems like this crop up every once in a while and we try to take care of them as quickly as we can...
Other than persistant trolls and beligerant spammers we haven't had to ban anyone from the board in quite some time... if you personally had been banned you would have gotten an email from me telling you why, but you've been one of our model visitors/posters and have contributed to the board on an ongoing basis so you don't have to worry about being banned...
Whenever you go to the board and notice that the posting box either on the index page or any of the messages is missing it's because the board has been put on archive mode temporarily for a reason... we try not to put it on archive too often but sometimes we have no alternative... by being in archive mode it allows visitors to read the board while we do what we have to do... the majority of the visitors to any board are lurkers who read and not post, so we've found that going on archive doesn't hurt traffic or visitations... we sometimes get email from people concerned about not being able to post (we got 2 last night, including yours), but once we respond, let them know what's going on and reopen the board for posting they usually post their message or reply...
