1. Discussion groups that are overflowing with "make money fast," "get rich quick," and "my Internet guru can beat up your Internet guru" posts.
2. The lack of originality in many websites. C'mon folks, what happened to the creativity? Did it go poof during the Dot-Com Bomb?
3. Spam.
4. The "I can make a lot of money in my sleep" mentality. Sorry, folks, but unless you have vivid dreams about your business, your money-making will be limited to your waking hours.
5. Closely associated with #4 is the "make money on the Internet" mentality. You don't make money ON the Internet, people. The Internet is just a tool. Like the telephone. Or postal mail. You make money VIA the Internet. And that money comes from people, not some amorphous thing called "the Internet."
Enough venting. Now I feel better.
