I think that the best way to promote a product is to promote yourself. By that I mean, build a working relationship, a trust. Once that is established you will find that your products are more in demand.
When you try to SELL to others online their automatic defences will be triggered.
If you have pre-sold yourself, the defences will not be triggered to the same extent, making the close of the sale that much easier.
