Here's how I build a list (these instructions would best fit a person who doesn't really like writing, and the thought of having to produce your own ezine week-in and week-out is just too daunting):
1. I find services that first of all offer free training courses on the art of ezine publishing. Google is useful for this.
2. They must offer a service of writing the ezine for you.
3. The service must be completely customizable with your own details, and your own ads. No third-party adds are tolerated in my system (why advertise for someone else?).
4. The service must email the ezine for you.
5. Fees are super reasonable.
6. Preferably the system should provide the ezine copy bi-monthly, and of course it must be well written.
7. You must be able to export the subscribers from your system, and do other types of regular housekeeping.
Hope this helps.
