As of March 1, 2004 Yahoo the largest directory has gone to
a pay for inclusion and pay per click based model.

The new change effects anyone who wants to use the former
Inktomi paid inclusion service. Effective 3/1/2004 this is
now Yahoo Search and is administered under the Overture site
match program.

One of the biggest changes are now ALL sites must be
reviewed by humans not electronic robots.

Could this prove to only be good for Yahoo and bad for
advertisers?

Another change is all submissions would also require a cost
per click for each visitor...possibly another huge
controversy.
