Hi Alex,
You write:
"I run a web programming services internet business. Unfortunately my ad campaign hardly brings me 5 visitors a day and a request per week."
First question:
* Can we see your web site? You need to put together a short elevator speech - What I can do for you is ... along with your link and include it in your posts - aka a sig file.
Next series of questions:
* Have you read and applied Allen Says 7 Secrets To Unlimited Traffic - aka - looked at writing articles, posting to forums, reciprocal linking, etc., etc. and generally establishing a reputation for yourself?
* Have you considered developing a series of products which you can market, publishing a newsletter, etc., etc. Yes, yes - hard work - been around for a while - but still works.
(For example - the marketing world is waking up to blogging and RSS - but to many of us who do not speak "geek" - translation please. In fact this is the biggest problem - making the concepts simple enough so anyone can understand them and showing people how to. I am sure there are many other areas - if you cruise the forums and see what questions people are asking, help out.
I suspect there is room in this market for more than one go to guy or gal who really knew their stuff, could tell us which services to use and could help us install the necessary scripts on their site and it would not cost an arm and a leg.)
* What about networking? There are at least two business networks you can join - develop a network and then mine this network for contacts. Take a look at
http://www.ryze.com/ as one example.
* How about tracking down people who may need your services, picking up the phone and introducing yourself? Sure some people are going to say no. Some people will hang up, but success is built on rejection.
* What material have you studied in learning how to write copy? If you have not done so have you read Scientific Advertising by Claude Hopkins and applied his work? What about home study courses on copywriting? If you are not prepared to do this, are you prepared to hire a copywriter? Sorry, but there is no easy way on this one - practice makes perfect.
Unfortunately, despite what people may say, success does not come easy (ok you knew that one) and it takes practice, patience and persistence
"Gee, thanks - John." Well, Alex I am just trying to be straight up with you.
Trusting these comments are of some value.
Kind regards,
John Glube
