Pesronally I would concentrate your efforts on free traffic and spend the money on a getting top ad-copy to sell your products. It's one thing getting them to your website, it's another making them purchase!
In answer to your question, ppc advertising is the way to go, adwords, overture, kanoodle, findwhat, etc.
